Trump Vetoes the NDAA
Christian Datoc @TocRadio tweeted: Trump vetoes the National Defense Authorization Act
Presidential Veto Message to the House of Representatives for HR 6395
I am returning, without my approval... the National Defense Authorization Act…. Unfortunately, the Act fails to include critical national security measures, includes provisions that fail to respect our veterans and our military’s history, and contradicts efforts by my Administration to put America first in our national security and foreign policy actions. It is a “gift” to China and Russia.
No one has worked harder, or approved more money for the military, than I have — over $2 trillion. During my 4 years, with the support of many others, we have almost entirely rebuilt the United States military, which was totally depleted when I took office. Your failure to terminate the very dangerous national security risk of Section 230 will make our intelligence virtually impossible to conduct without everyone knowing what we are doing at every step.
The Act fails even to make any meaningful changes to Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, despite bipartisan calls for repealing that provision. Section 230 facilitates the spread of foreign disinformation online, which is a serious threat to our national security and election integrity. It must be repealed.
Additionally, the Act includes language that would require the renaming of certain military installations. Over the course of United States history, these locations have taken on significance to the American story and those who have helped write it that far transcends their namesakes. My Administration respects the legacy of the millions of American servicemen and women who have served with honor at these military bases, and who, from these locations, have fought, bled, and died for their country. From these facilities, we have won two World Wars. I have been clear in my opposition to politically motivated attempts like this to wash away history and to dishonor the immense progress our country has fought for in realizing our founding principles.
LIBERAL TAKE ON TRUMP’S VETO
Confederate bases
(Esquire) Turmp Vetoes NDAA Citing Confederate Base Names, Section 230: Headline retitled: The President*'s Rage and Lust for Vengeance Will Not Be Contained: Some Republicans seemed to believe they could be, even now. By Charles P. Pierce yesterday.
Wash Compost: [Our Real President Donald Trump] made “seeming reference to instructions that the Defense Department change the names of installations commemorating Confederate leaders…. its mandate to the Pentagon to rename the 10 military installations bearing titles that honor the Confederacy”
Section 230
[Trump] "excoriated lawmakers for failing to include an unrelated repeal of a law granting liability protections to technology companies that Trump has accused, without significant evidence of anti-conservative bias."
Also: “Trump’s insistence that the defense bill become a vehicle for a repeal of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which protects companies from bearing legal responsibility for content third parties post on their websites, became a breaking point between the president and congressional Republicans during the final days of negotiations over the legislation. Trump views its repeal as a way to punish social media companies like Facebook, Google and Twitter.”
BTW: The $2000 vs $600 and foreign aid
Cowards trying to stop Trump: Jack Posobiec 🇺🇸 on Twitter: "Some White House advisors tried to stop Trump from making the $2000 video. He vetoed them. GOP leadership wanted to talk tonight afterward, but the President said there was nothing more to talk about."
(The Epoch Times) Lawmakers on Both Sides Block Changes to CCP Virus Bill but Trump doesn’t even have to veto, he can just let it die in a pocket veto.
Trump pardons
I noticed those pardoned by President Trump, CNN and others cast in the least sympathetic way possible. The initial CNN headline appears to have been: "Blackwater contractors, George Papadopoulos and ex-lawmakers are pardoned by Trump - CNNPolitics"
Iraq war veterans in Blackwater* were called "gov't contractors" who shot Iraqi civilians. I remember the MSM going crazy against Blackwater back in the day. Makes them sound like mercenaries with no loyalty to America. The Border Agents were not named, but they have extremely Hispanic sounding names (Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean) — and they didn’t even kill the supposedly unarmed illegal alien (whom they falsely call "undocumented immigrant") whom they shot!
(BTW: It’s not surprising that Hispanic agents might allegedly do a coverup 14 years ago. IJS!)
*BTW: Erik Prince, the founder of Blackwater/Academi (pronounced "Academy") — his sister is Betsy DeVos (Trump’s Sec of Ed)! … also BTW: This rich pro-school choice lady was preceded by a weirdo named John King Jr. in the Obama admin, he was preceded by that sleaze Arne Duncan who didn’t want black and Hispanic punished for acting up, because "discrimination."
Pardons and Attack on men
I also notice these people go after anything manly. And President Trump defends all things manly: Football, that marine who allegedly stabbed a 17yo injured ISIS captive to death, these Blackwater guys who allegedly massacred civilians — anybody rampantly smeared by MSM. He also defended the great Mike Tyson, saying the heavyweight boxer was railroaded in his phony rape conviction. He knows what’s up.
BTW: Raphael Warnock is facing accusations from his wife. MSM endlessly smeared Judge Roy Moore (The Great!) over gossip and vindictive, mentally ill, spiritually ill women. They did the same to Judge Kavanaugh (now so-called Justice, a RINO, but still) — when he did NOTHING to a woman, allegedly! Warnock’s wife says he’s a great actor — like a woman, I say! Like her, perhaps! SMH to anyone giving credence to the #MeToo Scare.
Some lady tweeted MeToo was meant to harass conservatives: Lavern Spicer tweeted that in response to Cernovich pointing out corporate media burying stories about Andrew Cuomo and Warnock. Somebody also mentioned Keith Ellison.
I see it all as an endless attack on men (including Dem men). They weaken men, and they blame ONLY them for that weakness, and pile-on with made-up stuff. Ridiculous.

BAD NEWS for America: Women rising
I meant to get to this yesterday!
(The Epoch Times) Women Raised More Money, Won More Elections in 2020 Than Ever Before
Between 2016 and 2020, the percentage of women candidates in gubernatorial and state legislative races saw a jump, to 32 percent from 25 percent.
At least 142 women will hold seats in the next Congress, an all-time high. (There are 435 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives, and 100 in the U.S. Senate).
In 2020 races for the U.S. House and Senate, women candidates outraised men on average, while also nearly closing the gap in state-level contests.
In 2020 races, women accounted for 33 percent of donations to congressional candidates and 31 percent of donations to state-level candidates, both records.
BLACK FEMALE IN CHARGE?
One America News Network reported Gov. Gavin Newsom named Democrat female Assemblyman Shirley Weber to be the first "African American" CA state elections chief — to replace Alex Padilla (who’s bad enough, no doubt).
BTW: Back in June, Shirley Weber's "African American" Reparations Bill Passed in the California Assembly (KPBS — what a disgrace!)
THIS IS A LAUGH: Gov. Newsom focused on 'character' in choosing Alex Padilla, and Shirley Weber for top roles (Mercury News). Padilla is supposed to replace Kamala Harris if she ever resigns and if she actually becomes Joe Biden's "VP"... This fat balding black woman Shirley Weber would become CA Secretary of State.
BTW: more bio about here from 2017, updated 2020: Chased out of Arkansas as a child, Shirley Weber won't back down in California Capitol (CalMatters): she spent 40 years as a professor. Weber also led a successful effort in 2019 to change the rules for police shootings, as described in one CalMatters podcast episode.
THIS IS RIDICULOUS: (LA Times) Column: Black women lost a Senate seat. It'll cost Democrats (by Erika D. Smith, Dec 24, 2020) SEE BELOW:
Black women are STILL not happy!
The grandchild of a man who never had the chance to cast a ballot because he died before the Voting Rights Act of 1965. The daughter of parents who felt so strongly about voting that they allowed their Los Angeles home to be used as a polling place.
It’s impossible to listen to Assemblywoman Shirley Weber tell her life story and not be grateful that Gov. Gavin Newsom picked her to be the first Black woman to serve as secretary of state in California.
Unfortunately, it’s also impossible not to see her historic appointment as some sort of a consolation prize for the U.S. Senate seat that Black women lost.
Long before Newsom tapped Weber to be secretary of state, the San Diego Democrat was one of the main people needling him to pick a Black woman to replace Kamala Harris in the U.S. Senate, preferably with Rep. Barbara Lee or Rep. Karen Bass. Weber also warned the governor what might happen if he didn’t.
“Keep the seat” was the hashtag-driven rallying cry echoed by members of California’s Legislative Black Caucus, which Weber leads, and by a coalition of Black politicians, lobbyists and activists from across the United States.
“If you don’t have a seat at the table,” she told me earlier this month, “then you’re on the menu.”
But on Tuesday morning, Newsom did precisely what the coalition hoped he wouldn’t do. He appointed Secretary of State Alex Padilla to replace Harris, making him California’s first Latino U.S. senator. And then on Tuesday afternoon, Newsom did what the coalition never expected him to do. He appointed Weber as secretary of state.
It didn’t take long for Black Twitter to erupt in righteous fury.
(BTW: Newsom tweeted 3:46 PM · Dec 22, 2020: Gavin Newsom on Twitter: "A fearless advocate with unimpeachable integrity and moral clarity -- there's no one better suited for the job of Secretary of State than @AsmShirleyWeber. With her, CA will continue to be a model for the nation in expanding democratic participation and access to the ballot box.…" — And he shared a weird video of this woman.)
"Righteous fury"
“After everything that Black women did for democracy in the 2020 election AND all that we are STILL doing for the Georgia Runoff,” tweeted Jotaka Eaddy, a Silicon Valley tech executive and strategist. “I’m not sure how anyone thinks that a US Senate without the voice of a Black woman is okay.”
“If I could sum up in one phrase what Black women are thinking about not having representation in the United States Senate.... ‘UNTIL YOU DO RIGHT BY ME...’” tweeted Dallas Fowler, president and board chair of the Museum of African American Art in South L.A.
“Gavin Newsom didn’t #keeptheseat. So now, Black women are not in the U.S. Senate,” tweeted author and activist Brittney C. Cooper. "#BlackWomenWontForget when you make your presidential run, Newsom.”
At issue is not so much Padilla or the 40% of California’s residents who are Latino and have been waiting for far too long for a Latino to represent them in the U.S. Senate. The Los Angeles Democrat will make an excellent senator and California is lucky to have him.
As I’ve written before, I firmly believe we need both a Latino senator and a Black senator to solve this state’s many race-based inequities. I also firmly believe that California’s senior senator, Dianne Feinstein, should step down early to allow this to happen, but I digress. ….
[And this lady goes on and on and on, SMH.]
