Barrett could be the first mother of school-aged kids to serve as a justice. As a graduate of Notre Dame Law School, Barrett clerked for the late Justice Antonin Scalia in the '90s. She later returned as a law professor. In 2017, she was appointed to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago, IL. A year later, she was among the finalists to replace Justice Anthony Kennedy – but Brett Kavanaugh got it.

Barrett's known as a devout Catholic and originalist (just like Justice Scalia was) – someone who interprets the Constitution as it was originally understood when it was adopted.

She could be in favor of overturning Roe v Wade. She's left the door open to changing precedent (aka gutting previous rulings established by the Supreme Court).

Barrett's been critical of Supreme Court rulings that have left the Affordable Care Act in place. She's claimed that Chief Justice John Roberts bent the law in a 2012 decision to save it. The court is taking up in another legal challenge a week after the election. Democrats say striking it down could be disastrous for Americans in the middle of a pandemic.

In a 2019 dissent, Barrett argued that a person convicted of a nonviolent felony shouldn't be automatically barred from owning a gun. NICE.

Barrett's confirmation process is scheduled to start October 12th. Four days of hearings are slated for opening statements, questioning, and testimony from outside witnesses. She could be sworn in before November 3.

Portland, Oregon — already suffering from fires and protests — is bracing for a showdown today between right and left wing activists, with "far-right groups from around the country bringing guns, flags, bulletproof vests," the N.Y. Times reports.
President Trump was booed — with chants of "Vote him out!" — as he paid respects to Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the Supreme Court steps.
For, what, 4 or 5 nights in a row, a revived fake racial-justice movement (racial justice means NOT justice; social justice also means NOT justice) — rioters and agitators took to streets across the country to protest the lack of charges against police in the death of Breonna Taylor in Louisville (LYNCH MOB). CNN showed demonstrations from L.A., Sacramento, Philadelphia, and Boston — and probably many other places.
Everyone from Facebook to YouTube to the U.S. military is taking precautions for post-election civil unrest exploding. BUNCH OF LEFTIST ENEMIES OF AMERICA.

Cop attacked in station

(Drudge / KTLA) LAPD officer wounded during attack inside station… in stable condition. It happened around 10:30 PM Saturday — the officer suffered a head injury after being attacked by an unknown assailant. UPDATE: He was left with bumps and bruises after being fired upon (but not struck) in the LAPD San Pedro Harbor Division station. He had wounds consistent with being pistol-whipped. A guy walked in, may have taken the cops gun, but hit him with it. A watch commander shot at the dude, but he got away in a white pickup truck; he was chased and apprehended.
