Twitter user cwt_news scared a screenshot of NBC News from 11/14/21: A city in Michigan is apparently the first in the nation to elect an all-Muslim City Council, reflecting a more racially diverse landscape in local governance. (And it has a weird woman in cosplay or some fancy dancy outfit.) 

(Detroit Free Press) Hamtramck to have all-Muslim city council, likely first in US 

(NBC News) Country's first all-Muslim city council is elected in Michigan 

(BBC) The US city run by Muslim Americans (Google had it originally as "The harmonious US city run by Muslim Americans") 

(Opindia) Amer Ghalib becomes first Arab-Amercian mayor in Hamtramck: Amer Ghalib is a healthcare professional and a Yemeni immigrant and arrived in the US over 20 years back. He has degree in biological science as well as health/nursing science and works at a medical centre. He has three children. 

Muslim city councilmember-elect Amanda Jaczkowski noted, “People are still proud of their culture specifically, whereas if it’s assimilation, we would lose the uniqueness.” Among the six Muslim council members, five of them were immigrants, and one is a convert to Islam.

AMERICAN INDIAN 'VICTIMS'

From Hake News… (TheSkimm) Yesterday, Biden signed an EO in effort to protect “Native Americans” (US?) against violence. About 1,500 American Indian and “Alaska Native” people have been recorded missing across the country. More than 1.5 million “Indigenous” women have experienced violence in their lifetime (NOT BY WHITES, BTW!). But that's likely an undercount due to racial profiling and systemic racism in law enforcement (NO SUCH THING). Now, the Depts of Fake Justice, Interior, and “Homeland Security” (A JOKE) have less than a year to create a strategy, address specific law enforcement issues, and support Tribal Nations. 

• NOT READ: Action plans: In April, the Interior Dept created the Missing & Murdered Unit for Indigenous people. It puts the “full weight” of the federal gov behind investigating cases of missing and murdered Indigenous people. 

PS: Indigenous women and girls are more often reported missing and as homicide victims, compared to women of other races and ethnicities. Here's why.

In the past decade, 710 Indigenous people – mostly women and girls – have gone missing in Wyoming. And while Indigenous people make up just 3% of the state’s population, they account for 21% of the homicide victims. 

They’re jealous of Gabby Petito (who’s dead). 

In honor of Indigenous People’s Day (apparently Oct 7, 2021?), we’re looking at the discrepancies with missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls (MMIWG)...

 Montana, for example. Aka one of the states with the highest number of Native Americans per capita. About 6.6% of the population is Indigenous. But a disproportionate number of people reported missing throughout the state are Indigenous. The state’s Department of Justice found that they are four times more likely to go missing than white Montanans.

• About 1,500 American Indian and Alaska Native people have been recorded missing across the country.

• Indigenous women are murdered at a rate 10 times the national average.

• More than 1.5 million Indigenous women have experienced violence in their lifetime. 

Urban Indian Health Institute (UIHI) found that over 5,7000(?) Indigenous women and girls went missing across the country in 2016. But only 116 cases were logged in the Department of Justice’s database that same year. 

ISSUES WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT

Decades of systemic racism within law enforcement have persisted, leading to racial profiling and over-policing against minority communities – including Indigenous people. And Native Americans are often a forgotten group when it comes to the discussion around police: CDC data shows they also face high rates of police brutality.

This has led to a distrust in law enforcement, causing some people to fail to report certain cases to the police. For cases that are reported, UIHI Director Abigail Echo-Hawk told PBS that her org found that some databases would default a victim’s race to white if an ethnicity was not collected – and officials sometimes determine someone's race or ethnicity just by looking at them. Meaning, victims are often misclassified as white or Hispanic.

A BROKEN SYSTEM ON TRIBAL LANDS

…. Data has shown that reservations often face 2.5 times higher violent crime rates than other parts of the country. But these roadblocks may make victims or their loved ones reluctant to reach out to law enforcement because they may not feel that they can punish perpetrators and get justice….

WHAT’S BEING DONE..

In Oct 2020, then-President Trump signed a bill called Savanna’s Act. It’s named after Savanna Greywind, a 22-year-old Spirit Lake tribal member from North Dakota who was killed in 2017. The law is meant to help police track, solve, and prevent crimes against Native Americans. And requires the DOJ to work with tribes and develop law enforcement guidelines. 

A few months later under the Biden admin, Interior Secretary Deb Haaland – the first Native American cabinet member in US history – created the Missing & Murdered Unit for Indigenous people. The goal of the unit is to “put the full weight” of the federal gov into investigating these cases. Think: provide resources and develop partnerships with the FBI. The unit will expand on Operation Lady Justice – a task force launched in 2019 that works to solve these cases. 

Meanwhile, a number of states have created task forces to specifically address the issue of MMIWG, including Washington, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Many say their goal is to help fight the abduction, homicide, violence, and trafficking of Indigenous women.

FAKE NEWS DICTIONARY SMEARS KYLE?

The dictionary recently caused a stir when they subtweeted about the Kyle Rittenhouse case.

In a tweet shortly after Rittenhouse cried stand and the court had to take a recess, the dictionary’s Twitter account shared a post of the definition of “crocodile tears.”

“The term ‘crocodile tears’ (a superficial display of anguish) comes from a medieval belief that crocodiles shed tears of sadness when killing their prey,” the account tweeted.

The tweet was unlikely a coincidence, as it came at the exact time when leftists on social media were attacking Rittenhouse for “pretending to cry.” HE’S JUST A BABY! J/K! 

'FOURTH TRIMESTER': KILLING THE BABIES

(The Gateway Pundit) Merriam-Webster Dictionary Adds 'Fourth-Trimester' to Describe Newborns as 'More Fetus-Like Than Baby-Like' (h/t Jovani from Baltimore) 

(Nov 15, Cassandra Fairbanks) The Merriam-Webster Dictionary has added the term “fourth trimester” to describe the first months of a newborn’s life, which they say is “more fetus-like than baby-like.”

The addition was coined by pediatrician Dr. Harvey Karp who wrote a guide for new parents called, The Happiest Baby on the Block about 20 years ago.

In a press release about the new addition, the dictionary company wrote, “the fourth trimester is the first three to four months of a baby’s life after birth. The word ‘trimester’ implies that the baby is still a fetus…and that’s on purpose! A newborn’s brain and nervous system are not fully developed at birth, making them more fetus-like than baby-like.”

“Dr. Karp first heard the term in the late 1970s when he was working on the child abuse team at UCLA. At that time, he saw so many babies come in who were severely injured—even killed—for the simple offense of crying. He became deeply curious about what medical doctors had not been able to figure out—the cause of colic (severe persistent crying seen among babies 1-4 months of age),” the press release explained.

“He found that, thanks to evolutionary changes, human babies are born about three months before they’re technically ‘ready.’ In fact, they had to be born three months early because a baby’s developing brain and skull have gotten so big by the end of the third trimester that they can barely safely fit through the birth canal.”
