3. Older male Omay28864100: Thank you for the message. Teacher here too. Yes, it IS in the schools under various course names or lessons. And teachers hear it as well in Professional Development workshops. It's a sanctioned excuse for people to do poorly, give up, and nurture resentments.

Unknown CentristAmeric2: As both a former teacher and former socialist, I can also confirm that socialist professors have long since taught critical theory as a fact to education, sociology, anthropology, and even history majors. A lot of these professors were the left wing radicals from the 1960s-1970s.

I was getting a math credential, but funnily enough, never had any instruction on how to teach math. Tons of DEI [Diversity, Equity, Inclusion].

11. Unknown LibThink: I recently got a degree in education and I can attest to the fact that critical pedagogy is woven all the way through ed school. Not only that, but ideas of power, intersectionality, racism as systemic, white privilege and, especially, equity - was the water we swam in.

SECOND AMENDMENT

(TheSkimm) The Second Amendment. Yesterday, the Supreme Court appeared ready to expand the constitutional right to bear arms. In 2008 and 2010, the Supremes ruled that a person can own a gun at home for self-defense. Now, the high court is hearing a challenge against a New York law requiring a license to conceal carry outside the home. It comes after two NY men sued the state, saying their rejected applications for licenses were a violation of the Second Amendment. During oral arguments, most of the Supremes seemed skeptical about the law. And questioned why local officials have the power to weigh in on a constitutional right. It’s the high court’s first major gun rights case in over a decade. A decision isn’t expected until June.

• Eyes on the bench: If the Supremes strike down NY’s law, it could mean that similar laws in six other states (CA, HI, MD, NJ, MA, and RI) go down, too.
