'FIND THE FRAUD' WAS FAKE NEWS
(Revolver / Breitbart) Washington Post admits Trump’s ‘Find the Fraud’ quote was fake news…
The Post‘s original article was headlined: “‘Find the fraud’: Trump pressured a Georgia elections investigator in a separate call legal experts say could amount to obstruction.” It relied on information from a single anonymous source, described as “an individual familiar with the call who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the conversation.”
However, the Washington COMPost has now changed the headline and issued a correction as of March 11 (original emphasis):
Correction: Two months after publication of this story, the Georgia secretary of state released an audio recording of President Donald Trump’s December phone call with the state’s top elections investigator. The recording revealed that The Post misquoted Trump’s comments on the call, based on information provided by a source. Trump did not tell the investigator to “find the fraud” or say she would be “a national hero” if she did so. Instead, Trump urged the investigator to scrutinize ballots in Fulton County, Ga., asserting she would find “dishonesty” there. He also told her that she had “the most important job in the country right now.” A story about the recording can be found here. The headline and text of this story have been corrected to remove quotes misattributed to Trump.
The Washington Examiner reported on Sunday evening:
The Wall Street Journal first published audio last week of the roughly six-minute call on Dec. 23 between Trump and Frances Watson, the chief investigator of the Georgia Secretary of State’s office, in which Trump urged her to look for fraud in mail-in ballots in Fulton County, where much of Atlanta is located.
… [T]he audio shows that early reports in January about that call, based on anonymous sourcing, misquoted Trump. In those reports, Trump was quoted as urging Watson to “find the fraud,” and if she did so, the investigator would be a “national hero.”
Outlets such as CNN published these quotes, corroborating what was first reported by the Washington Post. While CNN’s version, reliant on a single anonymous source, remains unchanged, the Washington Post stuck a long correction note to the top of its report …
Both CNN and the Washington Post reported previously that state officials said they did not believe a recording of the Trump-Watson call existed, but in recent days both have new reports that say officials found the recording in Watson’s trash folder on her device while responding to a public records request.
Democrats used the phony “find the fraud” quote in the Senate impeachment trial of former President Trump last month.
CAPITOL PROTEST (HAKE NEWS, HR 1)
(Revolver) Feds arrest two for attacking Capitol police officer Brian Sicknick… (Wash Post / Archive)
Julian Elie Khater, 32, of Pennsylvania, and George Pierre Tanios, 39 of Morgantown, W.Va., were arrested Sunday and were expected to appear in federal court Monday.
Khater is ALLEGEDLY seen on video discharging a canister (perhaps bear spray) into the face of Sicknick and two other officers.
Khater and Tanios are charged with nine counts including assaulting Sicknick with a deadly weapon, according to a couple cops.
The Capitol Police said that Sicknick “was injured while physically engaging with protesters” and collapsed after he had returned to his office following the riot.
Without a cause of death, the late 42yo officer Sicknick’s case has not been established as a homicide.
Wash Compost says: Authorities have included Sicknick among five people who died as a result of the riot. The four others were civilians — Ashli Babbitt, 35, who was shot by an officer, and three others died in the chaos. (VAGUE!)
The day after Sicknick died, his family issued a statement noting “many details regarding Wednesday’s events and the direct causes of Brian’s injuries remain unknown and our family asks the public and the press to respect our wishes in not making Brian’s passing a political issue.” (WASN’T SICKNICK A TRUMP SUPPORTER?)
HE’D BE ROLLING OVER IN HIS GRAVE AT THIS: Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), paid tribute to Sicknick on the Senate floor, saying the officer understood “that wearing that uniform, wearing that badge, that you had a sacred duty to protect this sacred space.”
Though Sicknick supported Trump, those who encountered him said his political views did not align neatly with one political party. Messages he sent to his congressman, Rep. Don Beyer (D-Va.), were “polite and measured,” according to the lawmaker’s spokesman. He opposed impeachment and favored gun control. He was concerned about animal cruelty and the national debt.
During the ceremony honoring Sicknick at the Capitol, Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) described him as a “peacekeeper, not only in duty but in spirit.”
DEGENERATE ENTERTAINMENT
It’s out of control! Women! (Hake News, end of Hour 2)
UPDATE ON BLACK BACHELOR
(NY Post) 'The Bachelor' finale: Matt dumped Rachael over race issues
Shoulda been Joel Friday! He’d have kept her! Nah. Wrong reason though.
Writer Marisa Dellatto writes chock-full of typos:
Season 25 of “The Bachelor” had a grim end.
Bachelor Matt James appeared at the “After the Final Rose” in real pain. Monday night, we learned that he gave his final rose (WHATEVER THAT MEANS) to Rachael Kirkconnell. Though after photos of her attending an Antabellum-themed party were revealed online, he had to end their relationship. HE DIDN’T *HAVE* TO!
Watching the first black Bachelor in franchise history be in so much pain was difficult (FOR MARISA DELLATTO). Heartbreak is one thing; racial trauma is another. Having to suffer through both in the name of entertainment on live TV is not fair. “I didn’t sign up to have this conversation,” he said on the episode.
The guy’s mother appeared in the episode, *cringe*
Matt had difficult (and controversial) talk with his dad during last week’s episode. *SHRUG*
Unlike usual, this wasn’t a live special and it wasn’t hosted by Chris Harrison (instead, Emmanuel Acho took his place). He brought a much needed perspective that Chris never could, given the issues and race that were made front and center while this season aired. *CRINGE*
Matt talked with Emmanuel about the pressure he faced to represent all black men as the first black bachelor in franchise history. After filming ended, Matt compared his time with Rachael to a “honeymoon,” until the rumors about her past came out. At first, Matt tried to support her and dismissed the talk as just that, rumors. But when Rachael publicly owned up to the photos, Matt had to take care of himself and the hurt she caused him. *CRINGE*
They’re no longer together. “If you don’t understand that something like that is problematic in 2018, there’s a lot of me that you won’t understand,” he said of the three-year-old photos. “I stepped back and let her do the work she’s committed to doing.”
Rachael then took the stage to own up to her ignorance. “People need to realize saying ‘this is normal where I come from’ doesn’t make it right,” she said. Though she grew up in the south, she never questioned what those dresses meant and what she was celebrating, which she says was on her.
Though she was “blindsided” by Matt breaking up with her, she it made her realize that “he must be really, really hurt” by her actions. “I lost the love of my life … I love him so much and I always will,” she said.
When Matt was brought back out, Rachael apologized to him. He was visably upset and could barely speak. “It’s heartbreaking, it’s disappointing,” he said. “When I questioned our relationship, it was in the context of you not understanding my blackness … that’s why we can’t be in a relationship.”
Though Rachael is educating herself, Matt knows it can’t be his burden to usher her through this reckoning: “I don’t want to be emotionally responsible for those tears,” he said.
