REACTION

(NPR) Attorneys representing Travis McMichael told NPR in a statement they were upset "that the Justice Department bought the false narrative that the media and state prosecutors have promulgated."

"There is absolutely nothing in the indictment that identifies how this is a federal hate crime and it ignores without apology that Georgia law allows a citizen to detain a person who was committing burglaries until police arrive," attorneys Bob Rubin and Jason Sheffield said.

Bryan's attorney, Kevin Gough, told NPR that he is disappointed with the Justice Department's decision to pursue federal charges.

"Roddie Bryan has committed no crime," Gough said in a statement. "We look forward to a fair and speedy trial, and to the day when Mr. Bryan is released and reunited with his family."

Talk/Chat, Mess, Judgment

I loved JLP’s comments on the depressed people. 

One major concern: the mess and the talk and the judgment. This or that person is in a fallen state or beta or whatever. Or everything is a joke. Why be so into judging another’s heart, especially a brother or sister in chat or church? JLP and the Bible harp on this: don’t gossip. Don’t be busybodies (whatever that means). 

Also don’t be so holy or trying to talk deep stuff all the time. We’re not deep. And we’re not better or wiser than anybody just because we stumbled across the truth and it’s ringing true. That’s ego! Other people can see right through you, including normies. 

I think people who are too friendly and ingratiating also are great betrayers and cruel. They take pride in their position or relationships with others. If something changes they turn on you immediately. They “feel judged.” But the judgment they feel is their own. 

It’s a great lesson always to have a space between you and others. Let nothing and no one be more important than what is right, or you’ll hate them and suffer the loss of your false god. Or never let go of your false god as you sink into hell and misery. 

But if you notice you have false gods, gossip, or whatever, don’t trip, don’t deny, hide, or egotistically try to solve it yourself.
