(CNN) Major US airlines ask the feds to create a coordinated “no-fly list” for violent and disruptive passengers, pushback from GOP lawmakers. Republican senators arguing the mandate would seemingly equate unruly passengers to terrorists “who seek to actively take the lives of Americans and perpetrate attacks on the homeland," [NOT READ] the senators wrote in a letter to DISGUSTING OBAMA-BIDEN AG Merrick Garland this week.

While airlines may ban an unruly passenger from their own flights, competition rules mean that information is not shared with other carriers (HA!), so unruly individuals can easily fly on different carriers after violent or disruptive incidents.

Nearly 500 unruly passenger incidents have been reported in the first six weeks of 2022 (RACIAL BREAKDOWNS, PLEASE!), according to data from the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration), 80 incidents referred to the SO-CALLED Justice Department to consider criminal prosecution. WONDER IF IT REFLECTS BADLY ON THE AIRLINE STEWARDESSES AS WELL!

THESKIMM: It’s no secret that women have faced hurdles when it comes to speaking out against their abusers. Amid a justice system where convictions in sexual assault cases are still rare, women could now face repercussions for coming forward in the first place. HAKE NEWS: INNOCENT MAN, GUILTY WOMAN

(TheSkimm / NPR) The other Trump-Russia probe. Last week, special counsel John Durham alleged Rodney Joffe, a client for Washington, DC dirty lawyer Michael Sussmann (of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign) organized a conspiracy to spy on the Trump admin.

Durham was appointed to investigate FBI wrongdoing in their probe into OVER-HYPED Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Sussmann’s charged with lying to the FBI (before 2016 election) about his ties to the Clinton campaign. Sussmann claimed to have “info” suggesting Trump or his associates were using Russian-made smartphones and in Feb 2017 gave the CIA info about suspicious internet data related to Trump and Russia… Suss got it from his client Rodney Joffe, a tech exec who worked with the White House (OBAMA WHITE HOUSE?). Joffe had mined internet data (spied) in Trump Tower, the Executive Office of the President, and other locations to dig up derogatory material about Trump. Politically motivated? Data gathered on Trump improper?

Sussmann denied lying to the FBI, called allegations misleading, intended to “inflame media coverage” ahead of his trial later this year.
Republicans accusing the media of downplaying the story. Media hyping allegations being distorted (MEDIA DISTORTS EVERYTHING ABOUT TRUMP, THEY’RE LIARS, DECEIVERS).

Susan Wojcicki, the CEO of YouTube, has acknowledged that the platform’s policy of censoring legal content that it deems to be “harmful” is controversial and urged governments to step in and pass stronger speech laws.

Wojcicki made the comments in an interview with the Hamburg-based independent broadcaster TIDETVhamburg where she was asked about how the platform navigates the “minefield” or complying with national laws while also keeping advertisers happy and users interested.

“We work around the globe, and you’re right, certainly there are many different laws and many different jurisdictions, and we…enforce the laws of the various jurisdictions around speech or what’s considered safe or not safe,” Wojcicki said.

…controversy arises when YouTube decides to censor speech that it deems to be “harmful” but “not illegal,” particularly in relation to COVID.

“What has been the controversial part is when there is content that would be deemed as harmful but yet is not illegal,” Wojcicki said. “An example of that, for example, would be COVID. I’m not aware of there being laws by governments saying around COVID in terms of not being able to debate the efficacy of masks or where the virus came from or the right treatment or proposal but yet there was a lot of pressure and concern about us distributing misinformation that went against what was the standard and accepted medical knowledge. And so this category of harmful but…legal has been, I think, where most of the discussion has been.”

Despite admitting that the way YouTube censors legal content is controversial, Wojcicki pushed for stronger speech laws that would accommodate this censorship.

“Our recommendation, if governments want to have more control over online speech is to pass laws to have that be very cleanly and clearly defined so that we can implement it,” Wojcicki said.

This is the latest of several calls Wojcicki has made in support of censoring legal speech that’s deemed to be “harmful.” She’s also called for the US government to offer guidance on “hate speech” and had a secret meeting with the Irish Prime Minister to discuss content moderation on YouTube.

Outside of her calls for stronger guidance and laws from governments, Wojcicki recently wrote on YouTube’s official blog that: “Tackling misinformation and other harmful content is a top priority.”
