"The pepper-spray incident at Antioch High School represents a serious violation of law and our school policies, and the student involved has received appropriate disciplinary consequences in accordance with the student-parent handbook. An incident report was filed on Friday with the Metro Nashville Police Department through the school’s SRO for further investigation, and the teacher received immediate medical assistance from the school nurse," the statement read. "Due to FERPA’s student privacy protections, I’m not able to publicly share the specific disciplinary consequences for a student."

Reddit user @Lazy_Mouse3803 shared the now-viral clip, writing: Girl pepper sprays teacher because he took her phone from her in Antioch TN. This same teacher two months ago got punched in the face by a different student for taking a kids phone cheating on a test with it.

This person continues in the comments under his (or her) post under r/PublicFreakout: I feel so bad for the teacher. He doesn’t get paid enough to deal with troublemakers like this. My friend who goes to high school in Antioch sent me this and he says that this kind of stuff is unfortunately very common. Btw, the girl who pepper sprayed him is an adult. So, hopefully, she’ll serve some time in prison for assault and battery.
