(Apple) The trial for the three men accused of murdering Ahmaud Arbery begins today with jury selection. Arbery, a 25-year-old [b]lack [male], was shot and killed last year while jogging in Georgia. NPR — FAKE NEWS! He was actually fighting over the shotgun with the son. What was the son supposed to do?
(Apple) Black children were jailed for a crime that doesn’t exist. Almost nothing happened to the adults in charge. ProPublica — OH GOSH. POOR BLACK PEOPLE! GIMME A BREAK.
Surprise: China Launched a Hypersonic Missile
(Morning Brew) China launched a nuclear-capable hypersonic missile in August that sped around the globe in low-Earth orbit before striking a target, according to the Financial Times.
If a “nuclear-capable hypersonic missile” sounds kinda scary to you, well...it sounds even scarier to US intelligence officials, who were completely taken off guard by China’s advancement in hypersonic weapons. “We have no idea how they did this,” one source told the FT.
What is a hypersonic missile? It’s a weapon that flies at 5x the speed of sound. That’s slower than a ballistic missile travels, but what makes hypersonic weapons more dangerous is that they can be manuevered during their flight—whereas ballistic missiles travel on a fixed parabola. Therefore, China could evade the US’ current defense systems and “execute a nuclear strike on any target on earth with near-impunity and very little warning,” according to The War Zone.
Zoom out: China’s hypersonic flex is the latest sign of its growing military ambitions. Tensions are building near Taiwan after China sent about 150 aircraft into the democratically ruled island’s defense zone earlier this month.
APPLE IS EVIL
(Morning Brew) Fresh off its iPhone 13 launch, Apple is expected to unveil new MacBook Pro models at an event today, and possibly AirPods 3. On Tuesday, Google will also introduce its new smartphone, the Pixel 6.
ENVY, CORRUPTION
(Morning Brew) The top 1% of households now hold a larger share of US wealth (27%) than the entire middle class (26.6%) as of June, according to Federal Reserve data. It's the lowest share of national wealth held by the middle class—defined as the middle 60% of US households by income—on record.
Blame the communist shutdowns, BLM crime, this is what the commie capitalists wanted!
VAXX MADNESS
(Morning Brew) Expect to hear a final decision from the FDA on boosters for Moderna’s and J&J’s vaccines, after a panel recommended them for certain populations last week.
(WND) State trooper radios emotional farewell before vaccine mandate ends his career
The officer in Yakima, in Washington state, does not give his name; he videoed himself radioing in his final message Saturday.
Monday is the deadline for Washington state employees to comply with Democrat Gov. Jay Inslee’s vaxx mandate (Daily Mail).
Frequent Tucker Carlson guest Jason Rantz shared it on Twitter Saturday evening, Oct 16, quoting the guy as saying: “This is the last time you’ll hear me in a patrol car and Jay Inslee can kiss my a**.” He reportedly signed off after 22 years.

OIL SPILL
(CNN) The recent oil spill off the coast of California has caused less damage than feared so far. However, it's brought the issue of offshore drilling into a new environment: state congressional races. PSH.
SUPPLY CHAIN
(CNN) Supply chain issues that have led to empty shelves, rising prices and consumer frustration could continue well into 2022. That’s the prediction of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg (BOOT-EDGE-EDGE!), who said Sunday that some of those troubles could be alleviated if Congress passes President Joe Biden’s infrastructure proposal (OH GOSH). These issues have huge political implications for Biden and Democrats as the midterm election season approaches, but they are also affecting consumers in unexpected ways. For instance, some toymakers are adjusting the kinds of toys they’re shipping this holiday season to accommodate a scarcity of shipping containers.
COMMIE CHINA VS COMMIE AMERICA
(CNN) China’s urging their citizens to lookout for American espionage after the deep state CIA announced the launch of a mission center dedicated to China earlier this month. Chinese state broadcaster CCTV claims the CIA was recruiting Chinese-speaking agents — which lit up Chinese social media networks. It’s not unusual for the Chinese government to claim their national security, and the lives of ordinary Chinese citizens, are under grave threat from American espionage. KINDA LIKE THE COMMIES HERE PRETEND RUSSIA WAS A THREAT TO OUR ELECTION INTEGRITY!
In 2015, China set up a national hotline for citizens to report on suspected spies or espionage activities. In 2016, Beijing launched the first annual National Security Education Day.
OTHER NEWS
(CNN) Tony Bennett has set a new Guinness World Record for being the oldest person to release an album of new material — at 95 YEARS OLD.
(CNN) “Truth, Justice and a Better Tomorrow.” — Superman's new motto, as announced by DC Chief Creative Office and Publisher Jim Lee. The motto is an update to the iconic line, "Truth, Justice and the American Way." Lee said the motto was changed to "better reflect the storylines that we are telling across DC and to honor Superman's incredible legacy of over 80 years of building a better world."
HORRIFIC
(WND) Woman raped on Philadelphia train as bystanders watched and did nothing, stunned police say
Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt of the Upper Darby Police Department said police only learned about the alleged rape after an employee of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) told police that "something wasn't right" with a woman on the train as it passed him, according to WNYW-TV.
Police said they went to the next stop, where they found the woman in question and arrested Fiston Ngoy, age 35 (BLACK), who was charged with rape, aggravated indecent assault and related counts, according to Delaware County court records via WNYW.
Bernhardt said Ngoy has a history with SEPTA and the Upper Darby police. (NY Slimes) The authorities said Mr. Ngoy was homeless and was not armed during the attack.
He initially “attempted to touch her a few times.”
NOT READ: Bernhardt said surveillance video of the incident, which took place at about 10 p.m., showed something even uglier – bystanders who did nothing to help the woman.
While there were not “dozens of people” in the car at the time, Mr. Bernhardt said, there were enough that, “collectively, they could have gotten together and done something.”
He added that investigators had received reports of some passengers recording the attack on their phones but that the police had not confirmed those reports. (Bystanders on the train who failed to intervene could be criminally charged if they recorded the attack, Mr. Bernhardt said)
"There was a lot of people, in my opinion, that should have intervened; somebody should have done something," Bernhardt said. "It speaks to where we are in society… who would allow something like that to take place?"
Bernhardt said it was "disturbing” that “no one did anything to intervene or help this woman," according to WCAU-TV.
OTHERS RUNNING THEIR MOUTHS
Some far-left “she/they” BLM-supporting “award-winning investigative journo” woman named Victoria Brownworth 🎃💀 on Twitter: "#BREAKING A woman was raped on a SEPTA el train in Philadelphia. The rapist threatened her, tore off her clothes and sexually sexually assaulted her. Instead of intervening, other riders filmed the rape and posted it on social media."
SEPTA issued a statement urging riders to report crimes they witness.
"The assault was observed by a SEPTA employee, who called 911, enabling SEPTA officers to respond immediately and apprehend the suspect in the act," SEPTA spokesman Andrew Busch said in a statement, according to WCAU.
"There were other people on the train who witnessed this horrific act, and it may have been stopped sooner if a rider called 911.
"SEPTA urges anyone who observes a crime being committed or any dangerous situation occurring to report it. Anyone witnessing an emergency should immediately call 911."
According to WNYW, Bernhardt said the alleged victim was an "unbelievably strong woman" who assisted police. He said she was taken to the hospital and did not know the man who allegedly attacked her.
"She’s on the mend," Bernhardt said. "Hopefully she will get through this." PSH!
