"FREEDOMS" I DON'T SUPPORT

Bastiat says he argues for liberty, a more open society, and the Constitution. 

I have heard he is okay with legal marijuana, drugs, porn, trans "freedom," same-sex marriage, abortion (actually perhaps not), etc. So it should be a fun discussion! 

HAKE'S TAKES: LIMITED "FREEDOM"

In defense of individual freedom, I absolutely support the basic right of discrimination and quote-unquote "hate speech" even in the commission of a crime. In other words, we should abolish anti-discrimination laws and abolish so-called "hate crimes" legislation. 

I think I also believe in the freedom to fail, the freedom to “suffer and die” (to borrow a phrase from JLP). Right now we have this spoiling, “mama”-protecting, not-morally-straight “social safety net.” We have people’s lives subsidized — I suggest debilitatingly so. Hunger (real and metaphorical), desperation, suffering, natural reward for doing right (rather than unnatural reward for doing wrong or nothing), are great motivators. They bring life and satisfaction with a good day’s work. 

But we should not allow total “freedom” to be immoral “as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone else.”

Today on my show, The Hake Report, a viewer (Ledgeclingr on Odysee) shared a quote: 

"Liberty, when it degrades into licentiousness, begets confusion, and frequently ends in tyranny or some woeful confusion." - George Washington 

And licentiousness means: lacking legal or moral restraints, especially: disregarding sexual restraints; or: marked by disregard for strict rules of correctness. 

This is so true. The old school men of true leadership and success don’t go loosey-goosey or willy-nilly with the way of going about things. They look out for their communities and impose their will on others acting out around them. They don’t mind being hated for it, either. 

We have degraded into licentiousness, and it’s ending in tyranny as well as some woeful confusion.
