Weak Arguments for Abortion (Sun, May 19, 2019)
Dr. Yashica Robinson CNN op-ed by an Alabama doctor: Why I won't stop providing abortions …
She’s from alabamawomensclinic.com where they have a
an airplane circled the state capitol proclaiming "Abortion is OK"
“I am angry at the politicians who do not see women as responsible decision makers and therefore believe the care I provide should be outlawed. I am enraged that the state of Alabama would force me to choose between what is ethical and medically appropriate care and breaking the law.”
Her piece in Teen Vogue (trash magazine):
As an ob/gyn, I provide care for pregnant women in Alabama — I deliver babies, support patients through miscarriage, and I provide abortions. ....I came to this work because of my passion for young people. I found myself pregnant before finishing high school. Because of fear and lack of resources, by the time I confided in my mother and grandmother, I had no choice — I was going to be a mother. I want young people to know that they have someone in their corner. Someone who has been there and who understands. Meeting the full spectrum of reproductive health care needs of patients in Alabama can be tough work because my patients encounter so many barriers, including parental consent laws, lack of financial support, shuttering reproductive health clinics, and lack of comprehensive sex education. I am worried that it just got harder.
….
I wish these anti-abortion extremists could understand that nearly 1 in 4 women will have an abortion by age 45. I wish they could understand the lived experiences and know empathy for someone who needs an abortion, … or who lacks the support she needs to have a healthy pregnancy on her own terms.
…
While my heart hurts for patients and families ... I can’t help but hold onto a small grain of hope … that the … patients I see every day, … scrape together money that would normally go towards rent or food, ... find childcare for their beloved children, will one day be seen as the whole, deserving people that they are.
I hope young voters hear my story and know that abortion is essential care, and it is up to the momentum of the pro-woman, pro-LGBTQIA, pro-health care, pro-democracy, pro-freedom movements to make it clear ... that abortion is health care that cannot be taken away. I speak out not out of fear, but out of necessity to ensure we push forward, not backwards.
To the women and families … where abortion access is being threatened: I see you. I hear you. I validate your anger as those who haven’t walked in our shoes aim to make us invisible [James note: like the babies you kill, and then freak out when pro-lifers show the graphic photos?]. I will work alongside my fellow abortion providers … and abortion funds to ensure you continue getting the care you need.
AL State Sen. Vivian Figures tweeted: Thank you all for ... messages of support regarding the awful incident that took place in the Alabama Senate today. I will continue to stand for the rights of ALL women to use our God given free will. We are very capable of making great choices.
Piers Morgan is a BETA MALE! Pro-abortion, calls it “hypocrisy” that we have the death penalty and gun rights. He’s notoriously anti-gun. We shouldn’t let him into the country.
In watching some zombie movie:
Women are like overgrown children. Voices, strength. Have to protect them. (One friend said: I’m the one fighting the intruder.)
Kids innocent. Everyone knows. Roots of sin beginnings of sin maybe. No kid is as evil as adults are.
Women can pretend innocent but be evil. Satan came as the angel of light, am I right?
In watching some movie about queens and kings:
Thank God Hillary’s not in office!
