Shelby Steele’s new film takes a critical look at the prevailing narrative. It’s now under ‘content review.’

Steele is a “race scholar” (based at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution [I DIDN’T KNOW THAT WAS STANFORD! SMH]) who writes for WSJ sometimes. In 1990, Shelby Steele co-wrote and produced “Seven Days in Bensonhurst,” an Emmy-winning documentary about Yusef Hawkins, a black teen from Brooklyn, fatally shot in 1989 after he and friends were attacked by a white mob, ACCORDING TO RILEY.

Steele says liberals have developed a “poetic truth,” at odds with objective truth but nevertheless helps advance their false narrative.

The film shows a pastor in Chicago who says that “we have to take a very close look at ourselves.”

The president of the St. Louis NAACP chapter told Mr. Steele there was no evidence that the Ferguson protests had done anything to help the black people who live there. Property values have fallen, crime has increased, and schools continue to underperform. “Let’s be clear. The progressive agenda is not the black agenda,” he says. “The people in that community are no better off than they were prior to the death of that young black child. They’re no better off, and everybody knows it.” THAT WASN’T A CHILD!

ANYWAY...

Amazon, which was scheduled to stream the movie, is now having second thoughts and has placed it under “content review.” Eli Steele, the director, told me that he will resort to other streaming platforms if he has to and is referring people to the film’s website, WhatKilledMichaelBrown.com, for more details on how to view it. The progressive agenda may not be the black agenda, but it is the media’s agenda. Sadly, speaking plain truths about racial inequality in America today remains controversial.

The movie’s website states: 

Amazon placed What Killed Michael Brown? into “content review” on October 1st, 2020. This move blocks the film from being available on their platform — for now.  Their generic explanation states that a film warrants a review if it has offensive content, illegal and infringing content, public domain contain, or poor customer experience offensive content. 

Our film has not violated any of the above conditions — unless offering a differing cultural viewpoint is offensive.

Declaration by 3 epidemiologists from Harvard, Oxford, and Stanford elicits support and criticism

More than 34,000 medical doctors and health scientists from around the world have signed a declaration against lockdowns put in place to curb the spread of COVID-19, saying the measures are causing “irreparable damage,” according to an online petition initially created by three epidemiologist from Harvard, Oxford, and Stanford.

As of Oct. 14, close to 25,000 of the signatories signed as medical practitioners, and around 9,500 as public health scientists. They have joined more than 440,000 members of the general public in signing the petition. The petition requires signatories to provide their full name, city, country, zip or postal code, and email, as well as declare if they are signing as a citizen, medical practitioner, or a medical and health scientist.  Some media have raised questions about the validity of some of the signatures, saying they have spotted some using fake names on the petition. The Epoch Times could not verify the status of the signatories. The petition website now says the list of signatories will be made available once it has been verified and approved. The creators of the petition could not be immediately reached for comment.

The petition is co-authored by Dr. Martin Kulldorff, a Harvard professor and epidemiologist with expertise in detecting and monitoring infectious disease; Dr. Sunetra Gupta, an Oxford University professor and epidemiologist with expertise in immunology; and Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, a Stanford University Medical School professor and epidemiologist with expertise in infectious disease and vulnerable populations.

“Coming from both the left and right, and around the world, we have devoted our careers to protecting people. Current lockdown policies are producing devastating effects on short- and long-term public health,” reads the petition, titled the Great Barrington Declaration, after the Massachusetts town where it was authored by the three experts on Oct. 4.

The declaration says lockdowns result in worsening cardiovascular disease outcomes, fewer cancer screenings, lower childhood vaccination rates, and deteriorating mental health, to name a few issues, all of which will lead to high mortality rates in the years to come.

“Keeping students out of school is a grave injustice,” the doctors write. NO IT’S NOT! FORCING THEM INTO GOV’T PRO-GAY SCHOOLS IS A GRAVE INJUSTICE. 

Covid MESS: China lying? 

(The Epoch Times) China Had COVID-Like Patients Months Before Official Timeline

Internal CCP documents show patients in Wuhan had symptoms as early as September 2019, but authorities didn't disclose to the world.

  A series of leaked documents shows that patients in China with symptoms similar to COVID-19 were hospitalized months before the regime’s official timeline, throwing into question when exactly the CCP virus began spreading in Wuhan, China’s epidemic ground zero.

At least one patient with COVID-19-like symptoms was treated in September 2019, according to hospital data obtained by The Epoch Times from a trusted source who has access to government documents. (OH GOSH, ANONYMOUS SOURCES!) Dozens more were hospitalized over the following month.

  Wuhan hospitals also reported several deaths in October 2019 due to severe pneumonia, lung infections, and other symptoms similar to COVID-19 patients.

  The city’s health commission only publicly announced an outbreak of a novel form of pneumonia on Dec. 31, 2019—after social media posts by whistleblower doctors had gone viral. WE REMEMBER THIS. 

 In a letter dated Feb. 19 obtained by The Epoch Times, a national investigation team set up by the central government stated that it wished to trace early cases of the disease. It asked local authorities for data from all Wuhan medical institutions over the period between Oct. 1 to Dec. 10, 2019, including information on patients who visited fever clinics in the vicinity of the Huanan Seafood Market, a wet market that the officials initially identified as the outbreak origin; details of the earliest 10 suspected cases at each medical agency rated tier two or above (three is the highest); and pneumonia deaths with COVID-19-like symptoms.

The letter stated that nine hospitals, which received the most COVID-19 patients in the city, were key to the investigation.

China lying? 

...Despite the collected data, the Wuhan outbreak control task force told media on Feb. 26 that the earliest documented patient was a person surnamed Chen who fell ill on Dec. 8, 2019.

Similar symptoms: Details of the suffering

Patients died within a period of several days to about four weeks after their first symptoms appeared.

Xu Zhenqian, for example, was hospitalized at Wuhan No. 6 hospital. The 82-year-old started exhibiting symptoms on Oct. 1, 2019, including coughing fits without an apparent cause and coughed up white phlegm, a sign of respiratory infection, according to the hospital’s clinical description. The patient was transferred from another facility shortly before his death on Nov. 3.

Three other patients at the same hospital also had difficulty breathing before they died. Their CT scans showed blurred markings in their lungs—patterns that match the lesions on some COVID-19 patients.

The files also identified at least 40 other suspected COVID-19 patients across eight hospitals, the earliest one being 67-year-old Xiao Niangui, who began exhibiting symptoms on Sept. 25, 2019, and was hospitalized at the Wuhan Puren Jiang’an Hospital.

China WAS cagey

China’s lack of transparency has been heavily criticized by government officials. It consistently refused to allow in experts from the United States and the World Health Organization (WHO) to study the outbreak in the country. On Feb. 12, an official from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said the agency was still unable to access “direct data” about the outbreak. 

In a media interview released on May 1, a WHO representative in China also said China has excluded the organization’s experts from the country’s virus probe.
