The Hake Report, Sun. 6/14/20: I’m gonna deal mainly with this dumb Christianity Today article by President and CEO Timothy Dalrymple calling on white Christians to give blacks “reparations” money. (I dunno if he used the word.) It’s ridiculous. Hope he joins The Jesse Lee Peterson Show for an interview.

'CHRISTIANITY TODAY' calls for churches to pay reparations…
(Drudge / Disrn) In a new editorial published Wednesday, Christianity Today's President and CEO Timothy Dalrymple labeled slavery one of America's "original sins," adding that the Christian church was "silent in the face of slavery or even complicit in it."
(Dalrymple has written a book about Taiwanese American NBA player Jeremy Lin in 2012, and posted an old interview of Rick Santorum that year too.)
The article is titled: “Justice Too Long Delayed: It’s time for the church to make restitution for racial sin.” Dumb, huh? What’s “racial sin”? And quit throwing around the word “justice” — blacks aren’t about justice! Liberals aren’t about justice! This is fake.
There’s a gross black-and-white photograph of what appears to be a black family, with the “father” and light-skinned “mother” wearing wild black hair — everyone wearing black clothes. A little kid with baby fat and wild hair, and a young boy wearing a shirt that says “MELANIN™” on it. If that doesn’t scream “into your race” on the part of the parents….
But worse than all that, floating above this supposed family in the photograph are evil questions based on lies: Am I next? How long until I fit “the description”? God loves me… what’s your excuse? How long until you label me a “threat”?

'Your brother’s blood cries out...'
This guy quotes from Gen. 4:10 in which God told Cain, “Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground,” which is the first Biblical reference to murder — the murder of Abel. If blacks are a big extended “family,” the way people hung up on “race” over “spirit” believe, then blacks kill their brothers (and children) on a mass scale every day — through abortion and other violent crime. So that’s ironic that this Timothy Dalrymple would quote that verse.
Blacks also commit more than twice as many murders against white people as vice versa. Cops are more at risk from black people than black people are at risk from cops. And even if you reference Jesus’s equating hatred with murder. Blacks hate one another and white people far more than the reverse. They falsely accuse whites and cops, and come up with hate crime hoaxes more than anyone else. The only hate whites have toward blacks is in white niceness, white false guilt, their fear of black anger and false accusations of “racism” — and occasionally whites lashing out in anger over the false smears, such as Dylann Roof did.
And you want to know about injustice? Look at the 70-80+ percent of Chicago homicides that go unpunished, unsolved. Blacks get away with murder more than anyone in this country. Talk about blood crying out from the ground. Perhaps most of those victims were not as innocent as Abel’s, David Dorn’s was. Let’s hope they caught the right guy.
America’s 'Original Sin(s)'
This one is so stupid. Nowhere in the Bible is slavery called a sin, nor “racism.” Freedom is preferred, and you should not show favoritism to a rich man over a poor man who comes to a church meeting.
“Two original sins have plagued this nation from its inception: the destruction of its native inhabitants and the institution of slavery. Both sprang from a failure to see an equal in the racial other. As Bishop Claude Alexander has said, racism was in the amniotic fluid out of which our nation was born.”
Neither of those things is true.
It was not a sin what happened to the American Indians. If we’ve done anything wrong to the Indians, it’s been to give them money. Some were peaceful. Others were savages who didn’t mind killing women, children, the sick and elderly. The Declaration of Independence references the British King’s use of the Indians against Americans. There were very fine people on both sides, and evil people and violence on many sides.
There is zero evidence that as white people saw the “racial other” as less than human, except when they behaved that way. By accusing whites of this, he’s seeing white people as less than human. No one can relate to seeing fellow human beings as not human. Today’s culture dehumanizes, marginalizes, and tries to silence the voices of whites, Christians, men who, right or wrong, try to defend themselves.
But what does “equal” mean? Does that mean you roll over and not survive and build a good life for yourself and family? Does that mean you don’t defend yourself or punish crime by the “racial other”? That’s what it means today, effectively.
And Timothy’s talk of “racism” being “amniotic fluid,” a “virus” that “mutated” — is all cute, poetic crap — lies!
Propaganda about slavery and 'racism'
“American Slavery As It Is, published in 1839 with extensive sourcing by Theodore Weld and Angelina Grimké, writes that slaves:
“are frequently flogged with terrible severity, have red pepper rubbed into their lacerated flesh, and hot brine, spirits of turpentine, &c., poured over the gashes to increase the torture; that they are often stripped naked, their backs and limbs cut with knives, bruised and mangled by scores and hundreds of blows with the paddle…that they are often hunted with blood hounds and shot down like beasts, or torn in pieces by dogs; that they are often suspended by the arms and whipped and beaten till they faint, and when revived by restoratives, beaten again till they faint, and sometimes till they die; that their ears are often cut off, their eyes knocked out, their bones broken, their flesh branded with red hot irons; that they are maimed, mutilated and burned to death over slow fires.”
Sounds a lot like what blacks are doing to whites in South Africa! I don’t believe for a second that this kind of torture was common. It’s propaganda, drama, exaggerated to pretend we owe blacks today anything because “some people did something,” as Ilhan Omar might describe this.
Yet Timothy Dalrymple would have us believe, “This is the institution that endured on American soil for nearly 250 years.” No, it’s not.
Timothy later talks about George Floyd:
“Likewise, it’s time for white evangelicals to confess that we have not taken the sin of racism with the gravity and seriousness it deserves. The deep grief and anger over the death of George Floyd is about more than police brutality. It’s about a society and culture that allowed for the abuse and oppression of African Americans over and over and over again.”
'Racism' explains black failure, RME 🙄
He says: “Only about 42 percent of white Christians believe the history of slavery continues to impact African Americans today.” That is SHOCKINGLY, HORRIFICALLY HIGH. 42% of white Christians are delusional to believe that.
This guy references: “violent crime, ...joblessness, family breakdown, addiction, ...despair, [poor] education….over-incarceration and increasingly violent clashes between law enforcement departments and the communities they serve.”
The result ... is a catastrophic wealth gap: The median net worth of black families in the United States today is one-tenth the median net worth of white families. Sixty-two percent of black children born between 1955 and 1970 were raised in poor neighborhoods, compared to 4 percent of white children. Results for the generation born between 1985 and 2000 were even worse, with 66 percent of black children raised in poor neighborhoods compared to 6 percent of white children.
The only way to explain the story above is the persistence of racial prejudice and its enshrinement into the apparatus of government. … Racial prejudice is the implied spider that has woven the web of policies and practices, inequalities and abuses that have constrained black Americans now for four hundred years.
WHAT A LIAR! First of all, black failure is blacks’ fault. Second, “wealth gap” is a commie term — a Democrat term, indicative of a mindset that breeds more failure and shallow belief in “wealth.” Democrat policies enable black degeneracy, like a mother enables a spoiled addict. This man does not believe in God. And he hates and looks down on black people. He does not see blacks as fully human, fully responsible. Disgusting.
Blind to black ‘racism’
He says maybe “the most monstrous sin of the white church in America was shaping a theology of racial superiority….” But if he were to open his eyes, he’d see that whites are the slaves today, and more blatantly is the false sense of superiority blacks have. When they accuse you of “racism,” they feel superior. When they push black this, black that, and demand to be kissed-up to, they act like they think they’re superior.
As Jesse Lee Peterson points out, all angry people think they’re superior. And blacks are angry. Timothy Dalrymple is angry — he thinks he’s superior.
'Reparations'... administered by the most unjust people
Timothy talks about a Biblical tax collector, and compares whites to them.
Zacchaeus did not merely repent of his ways; he made restitution. He set up what we might call a “Zacchaeus fund” in order to restore what belonged to his neighbors. Are we willing to do the same? Black lives matter. They matter so much that Jesus sacrificed everything for them. Are we willing to sacrifice as well?
Whites’ money does not belong to black people. Whites do not owe blacks any restitution. If anything, blacks owe whites restitution — such as the so-called “family” of Michael Brown, who won a $1.5M settlement in an imaginary “wrongful death case.” When in reality he was the one causing trouble.
Black people don’t value the lives of fellow human beings — those blacks who commit abortions, murders, sell drugs, act erratic with cops, hate white people, have children out-of-wedlock.
Timothy then promotes something called the 400 Leadership Fund, SMH.
Perhaps the country is not ready to make reparations. But the history of racial injustice demands personal and corporate response. Perhaps the church can lead the way in biblical restitution. I am aware of one “Zacchaeus fund” in Atlanta, where Christians who believe that African Americans have been subjected to four centuries of injustice and plunder are beginning to do their humble part to make it right. A majority-black committee assigns the funds to support rising black leaders in the church and in the marketplace. It will not be enough, but it will be something. What if there were Zacchaeus funds in every city and believers gave sacrificially, so our brothers and sisters could be restored and so our neighbors could see once again the Christlike love that overcame the world?
There’s nothing humble about this. Liberals don’t understand justice.
