Kamala Harris is an anchor baby
JOHN C. EASTMAN , PROFESSOR OF LAW, CHAPMAN UNIVERSITY AND SENIOR FELLOW, CLAREMONT INSTITUTE, wrote a Newsweek article Some Questions for Kamala Harris About Eligibility.
Her father was (and is) a Jamaican national, her mother was from India, and neither was a naturalized U.S. citizen at the time of Harris' birth in 1964. That, according to these commentators, makes her not a "natural born citizen"—and therefore ineligible for the office of the president and, hence, ineligible for the office of the vice president.
PolitiFact rated the claim of ineligibility as "Pants on Fire" false, Snopes rated it simply "False," and from the other side of the political spectrum, Conservative Daily News likewise rated it "False." All three (and numerous others) simply assert that Harris is eligible because she was born in Oakland—and is therefore a natural-born citizen from location of birth. The 14th Amendment says so, they all claim, and the Supreme Court so held in the 1898 case of U.S. v. Wong Kim Ark.
Even my good friend, renowned UCLA School of Law professor Eugene Volokh, has fallen prey to this lie, Eastman writes.
The rules and questions
The language of Article II is that one must be a natural-born citizen.The original Constitution did not define citizenship, but the 14th Amendment does—and it provides that "all persons born...in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens."
The Supreme Court's subsequent decision in Wong Kim Ark is not to the contrary. At issue there was a child born to Chinese immigrants who had become lawful, permanent residents in the United States—"domiciled" was the legally significant word used by the Court.
The Supreme Court has never held that anyone born on U.S. soil, no matter the circumstances of the parents, is automatically a U.S. citizen.
Were Harris' parents lawful permanent residents at the time of her birth? If they were on student visa, then Harris was not subject to the complete jurisdiction of the United States at birth.
It also raises a question of her eligibility as a US Senator, who also must have been "nine Years a Citizen of the United States." If Harris was not a citizen at birth, we would need to know when (if ever) she became a citizen.
Her father's biographical page at Stanford University identifies his citizenship status as follows: "Jamaica (by birth); U.S. (by naturalization)." But there is some dispute over whether he was in fact ever naturalized, and it is also unclear whether Harris' mother ever became a naturalized citizen. If neither was ever naturalized, or at least not naturalized before Harris' 16th birthday (which would have allowed her to obtain citizenship derived from their naturalization under the immigration law, at the time), then she would have had to become naturalized herself in order to be a citizen.

BTW: Some dumb guy Mike Dunford (a “he/him”) tweeted a thread writing: Dr Eastman's views on the 14th Amendment are, to say the least, far outside the legal mainstream on this issue. However, while he might be a fringe voice, he's a credentialed fringe voice. So let's examine his reasoning in the Newsweek article he links. tl:dr - he's very wrong.

That’s Donald Harris, the Jamaican-born father of Democratic presidential hopeful Kamala Harris and a professor of economics at Stanford, reportedly sounding off this week in a statement to Jamaica Global Online about his daughter’s interview on the New York Breakfast Club radio show.
Kamala Harris, who admitted to smoking pot — “I did inhale,” she said in winking reference to a notorious statement Bill Clinton made a quarter-century ago — was also asked by the radio host about accusations that she has, in the past, opposed legalization efforts.
“Half my family’s from Jamaica,” she said. “Are you kidding me?”
That’s the part that apparently didn’t sit well with her dad.
“Speaking for myself and my immediate Jamaican family,” he reportedly said, “we wish to categorically dissociate ourselves from this travesty.”

Freakish sexual assault not a ‘white thing’

A Michigan man allegedly climbed through a window to sexually assault a 96-year-old neighbor in her home, police said.
Dejon Dejor Lynn, 25, was arrested Saturday in an Aug. 4 attack at the Colonial Square Cooperative in Ann Arbor, a townhouse complex where both he and the elderly victim live, MLive.com reports.
Ann Arbor cops and the Michigan State Police crime lab processed evidence at the woman’s residence that led them to Lynn. Police then went to Lynn’s home one day after the attack to execute a search warrant, but he was not home.
Lynn has been charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct and first-degree home invasion in the attack, the Detroit Free Press reports.
The victim, known to other residents as a spry and friendly woman, is continuing to recover from the attack, neighbors told WDIV.
“It is amazing,” neighbor Gary Ball told the station. “I was just seeing her walk a day before by the office area and she is quite active.”
The woman is as mobile “as someone in their early 60s,” Ball said.
“You have to be sick, deranged or on drugs,” Ball said of the attack.
AND YET, people judge this while they’re being immoral themselves. That same immorality normal people practice leads to this crap. We need perfection.
