Pregnant Woman Driver Hate (Tue. 7-12-22)
Texas lady gets cute driving "carpool" with unborn baby. 70s were "gay" and POC? Elon Musk knocks Donald Trump for his boldness.
The Hake Report, Tuesday, July 12, 2022 AD: Woman driver fights carpool lane ticket, calling the child in her womb a passenger. // Gossipy comedian Hannibal Buress goes by musician Eshu Tune with black French-fry-looking hair, rejecting God, Larry Bird, and Bill Cosby. // Far-left Morning Brew "journalist" Ashwin Rodrigues, simping for the pro-choice "ladies," seems lame to Hake. // On this day, 1979, Chicago White Sox stadium was filled by DJ Steve Dahl attendees blowing up gay, black Disco records. // CNN calls Sri Lanka rioters and insurrectionists "protesters," interesting! // Jill Biden likens LatinX diversity to San Antonio breakfast tacos, then apologizes! //

I FORGOT TO COVER HANNIBAL BURESS
(Far-left Morning Brew Sunday, July 10) Brew Questionnaire with Hannibal Buress
Hannibal Buress is a stand-up comedian from Chicago (the evil gossip who sparked the tearing down of Bill Cosby). He’s also a television writer and actor with credits including Saturday Night Live, The Eric Andre Show, Broad City, and many others. Currently, he’s producing and performing music as Eshu Tune. His first EP dropped in April, and it’s better—and less joke-centric—than you might think. Buress is so focused on his music right now, he won’t even answer our question about laughter. We’re glad to have him anyway. (SIMP!)
What’s the best advice you ever received?
We all die. Don’t take it so seriously.
What’s the most embarrassing song you’ll admit to liking publicly?
“CMDGT” by Eshu Tune. (OH THAT’S HIM, SMH)
What fictional person do you wish were real?
God.
What real person do you wish were fictional?
Larry Bird.

FLASHBACK: (Far-left Morning Brew July 3, also by Ashwin Rodrigues)
'We will adopt your baby' is a dark meme for depressing times
On June 24, the Supreme Court eliminated the IMAGINARY constitutional right to an abortion. The majority of SO-CALLED Americans SUPPOSEDLY oppose the decision, but at least two people celebrated: Executives at the Global Center for Human Rights, an organization that vows to “uphold national laws that protect life, family, and freedom of religion,” posed in front of the Capitol with wide grins and a poster that read, “We will adopt your baby.” It’s a phrase with a long history in the anti-abortion (AKA PRO-LIFE) movement.
THIS DAY IN HISTORY: ‘DISCO DEMOLITION NIGHT’

(Far-left Morning Brew, By Matty Merritt, July 11, 2022) On this day in 1979, nearly 50,000 people packed Comiskey Park on the southwest side of Chicago to watch local DJ and notorious disco hater Steve Dahl blow up a bunch of disco records in between a White Sox doubleheader. “Disco Demolition Night” remains one of the seminal events in music history, reflecting the homophobic and racist backlash to a music genre with roots in gay and racial minority communities.
What happened: In an effort to attract more fans to attend a not-so-spectacular Sox season, the team partnered with Dahl to offer 98-cent tickets to anyone who brought a disco record to explode.
The promotion turned out to be very successful—too successful. The crowd devolved into a full-on riot, with thousands of mostly young, white men rushing the field to destroy records. One eyewitness, a former Comiskey Park usher, told the Guardian in 2019 that he noticed a lot of attendees didn’t even bother to bring disco albums—they just brought “anything made by a Black artist.”
Mike Veeck, the White Sox’s promotion director and son of team owner Bill Veeck, has pushed back on the idea that the crowd was motivated by racial or anti-gay animus. “That angers me,” he told WBUR in 2019. “It had simply to do with choosing between rock ‘n’ roll and disco and dance clubs.”
Zoom out: Disco was a $4 billion-a-year industry at the end of 1979, but by then it was on the decline. Some say July 12, 1979, was the day disco died.
SRI LANKA
(CNN) Thousands of “protesters” (rioters, insurrectionists?) have stormed the homes of Sri Lanka's President and Prime Minister in recent days in fury over the nation's crippling economic crisis. The “protesters” have succeeded in forcing the “leaders” to resign, but refuse to leave the luxury houses until both of them have vacated their roles.
Striking images show “protesters” sprawled on a bed in the presidential palace and barbecuing food on the property. But the most dramatic footage showed “protesters” swimming in the President's private pool. It remains unclear how Sri Lanka will overcome rising food costs, fuel shortages and electricity cuts as the country struggles to make debt repayments. SMH…
ELON MUSK VS. TRUMP
(Mediaite) Elon Musk Says 'It's Time for Trump to Hang Up His Hat' and Go Away
Speaking at a rally in Anchorage, Alaska on Saturday, Trump claimed Musk told him he voted for him. Recently, Musk has expressed favorable views of the Republican Party. Musk has said he is “leaning toward” Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for president in 2024 if he runs.
“‘You know he said the other day, [Musk said] ‘Oh I’ve never voted for a Republican.'” Trump told the crowd. “I said I didn’t know that, he told me he voted for me,” said Trump. “So he’s another bulls*** artist.”
Musk replied to a tweet containing the quote and stated, “not true.”
Then Musk spoke more broadly about Trump and suggested he should step away from politics, stating, “I don’t hate the man, but it’s time for Trump to hang up his hat & sail into the sunset.”
Musk was confronted by a conservative radio show host who asked what, if any policy disagreements he has with Trump. The billionaire responded by saying Trump brings “too much drama.” Musk said the maximum age to start a presidential term should be 69 and he chose this number for an obvious and silly reason that shall go unsaid.
