(Drudge) Trump made a surprise visit to the troops in Afghanistan for Thanksgiving (CBS News) It Was a Closely Guarded Secret… He arrived about 8:30 in the evening local time and spent more than two-and-a-half hours on the ground, speaking to troops and meeting with Afghanistan's president. Reporters were under strict instructions to keep the trip a secret to ensure his safety. His official schedule said he’d be in Mar-a-Lago for a video conference call with troops. He served turkey to the troops where about 500 were having Thanksgiving dinner, and he spoke to them.
While in Afghanistan, Mr. Trump said he hopes to bring the number of troops in Afghanistan down to 8,600 from the current 14,000. It’s reportedly the place of America's longest-ever military conflict. In a meeting with Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani, the president confirmed to reporters talks have restarted with the Taliban. "The Taliban wants to make a deal, and we're meeting with them and we're saying it has to be a ceasefire, and they didn't want to do a ceasefire, and now they do want to do a ceasefire. I believe it'll probably work out that way."
The president's visit to Afghanistan came just more than a week after a helicopter crash in the country brought the number of U.S. deaths in Afghanistan this year to 19. This year has already been the deadliest for the U.S. military since the troop surge of 2014. More than 2,400 Americans have died in the nearly 18-year war. Trump has called to End Endless Wars.

In South Africa, a crowd of shoppers was seen charging into a shopping centre as guards removed security barriers.
France to ban sales? (AP News) French activists and lawmakers want to try to ban Black Friday! These Protesters shut down an AMAZON warehouse south of Paris in a Black Friday-inspired protest. The stupid climate group Amis de la terre (Friends of the Earth) — spread hay and old refrigerators and microwaves on the driveway leading to the warehouse. They held signs in front of the gates reading “Amazon: For the climate, for jobs, stop expansion, stop over-production!”

In South Carolina, one of the first states to vote and one where Buttigieg hasn’t been polling well among black voters, the candidate spoke in October at a Rock Hill church.

Republican female Danielle Stella’s campaign Twitter account @2020MNCongress was talking about an accusation that Omar shared sensitive information with Iran — Omar calls the accusation “outlandishly absurd.” QUOTE FROM STELLA’S CAMPAIGN: “If it is proven @IlhanMN passed sensitive info to Iran, she should be tried for #treason and hanged.” Her campaign tweeted a link to an article about it, and a crude drawing of a stick figure hanging from gallows. Twitter accused her Wednesday of violating Twitter’s rules.
Wash. Times (which is not usually that bad) at first falsely suggested this was a call for a “lynching” — claiming that lynching has been defined as executing a person with or without trial, but typically the latter. I’VE NEVER HEARD LYNCHING AS BEING AFTER A FORMAL TRIAL UNLESS IT WAS A KANGAROO COURT TRIAL. They removed the word “lynching” from the main article and explained the change.

(Drudge) 28 Iraqi protestors shot dead in 24 hours after an Iranian consulate was stormed and torched by rioters in Najaf (Reuters). The consulate attack shows intense anti-Iran sentiment in Iraq — it’s an uprising against Tehran authorities — the capital of Iran. At least 24 people died when troops opened fire on demonstrators who blocked a bridge in the southern city of Nassiriya before dawn on Thursday. Dozens of others were wounded. In Najaf, which is a city of ancient pilgrimage shrines that serves as seat of Iraq's powerful Shi'ite clergy, the Iranian consulate was reduced to a charred ruin after it was stormed overnight. Protesters accused the Iraqi authorities of turning against their own people to defend Iran. These supposed anti-government protests began in October.
A paramilitary commander says they will protect Shi'ite Muslim authorities. In a statement that suggested more violence was to come, the military commander of the Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF) suggested the overnight unrest in Najaf was a threat to Shi'ite clergy based in the city. Commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis said in a statement they’ll defend Iraq's most senior Shi'ite cleric, Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani. But Sistani himself has appeared to back the protesters, calling on politicians to meet the popular demands for reform, so it’s confusing who’s on whose side.

(AFP via Yahoo News) - Lebanese anti-government protesters lined up for free haircuts outside the central bank in Beirut Wednesday in a symbolic plea to make the rich pay and help rescue an economy in freefall. "We're here to teach them what a good haircut looks like," said 34-year-old Rebecca Saade, waiting for a volunteer barber to snip away at her short brown hair. "The economic crisis is what pushed us into the revolution," said masters student Racha, 24, drinking a coffee after she spent a chilly night in a tent outside the bank building. OH GOSH. Protests have been going over corruption and poor government since October 17. Amid turmoil, the government resigned on October 29, but the bitterly divided leadership has since failed to agree on the new cabinet. Protestors want to draw money from the richest, many of whom they accuse of corruption. "It has to be done to the top financiers who have benefitted from corruption until now," Saade said just before sitting under a black barber's cape.

Speaking of madness: There’s this German musician, age 30, who’s married to a 46-year-old German model / actress, Heidi Klum (she’s been married twice before, once with black singer Seal!).
