The British think it means to charge with treason or another crime against the state. But here in the U.S. it means to charge (the holder of a public office) with misconduct. WE ALL KNOW THE DEMOCRATS, FBI, CIA, THE DEEP STATE, THE SWAMP ARE THE ONES COMMITTING THE MISCONDUCT HERE, ALONG WITH THE RINOS AND NEVER TRUMPERS. So Trump is not leaving; he’s merely accused by the House Democrats (except for a few) of 'ABUSE OF POWER' and 'OBSTRUCTION OF CONGRESS' (WHEN IN REALITY CONGRESS AND THE UNELECTED DEEP STATE ARE THE ONES OBSTRUCTING AMERICA!). There are two houses in the U.S. legislative branch: The House of Representatives and the Senate. In this so-called impeachment process, the president gets falsely accused by the Democrat-majority House, and then the Republican-majority Senate has a trial on whether he’s guilty (which he’s not) and whether to remove him (which they won’t). Meanwhile, TRUMP WENT LIVE! He held a “Merry Christmas rally” — during the impeachment vote! in Battlecreek, Michigan! HAKE HEARD A GOOD BIT OF IT, IT WAS GREAT. He talked about the phony Democrats, the great things he’s doing.
(Michael Tracey) Democrat from Hawaii Tulsi Gabbard (not to be confused with nasty Mazie Hirono) voted “PRESENT,” meaning she’s not convinced. (NBC News) Two Democrats, Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey, who is expected to switch parties soon, and Collin Peterson of Minnesota, voted with Republicans against both articles. NO Republicans voted to impeach the president — not even the retiring black RINO Will Hurd (HE MIXED! From Texas), who hates Trump and even called him “racist.” Hurd said the Democrats are setting a dangerous precedent with weaponized impeachment, which is true.
The trial in the Republican-controlled Senate on whether to remove the president from office will likely begin in early January. It is likely that Trump will be acquitted, because a two-thirds majority is required for conviction.
(Drudge) Congressman compares process to Jesus' trial… (WXGA TV) Georgia Rep. Barry Loudermilk spoke (and tweeted) Wednesday, saying: “When Jesus was falsely accused of Treason, Pontius Pilate gave Jesus the opportunity to face his accusers. During that sham trial, Pontius Pilate afforded more rights to Jesus, than Democrats have afforded this president in this process.” In his tweet he also put the hashtag #ShamImpeachment

Mike Kelly (R-Penn.) said "on Dec. 7, 1941, a horrific act happened in the United States, and it's one that President Roosevelt said, 'this is a date that will live in infamy. Today, December the 18th, 2019, is another date that will live in infamy."
He’d noted the “great dates” in December like Christmas and the Boston Tea Party. “But also…” these horrific dates.
Trump also compared it to the Salem Witch Trials in his beautiful letter to Nancy Pelosi which she shrugged off b/c she’s so evil.

(Drudge) Manafort fraud prosecution dismissed opening way for Trump to set free with pardon… (Daily Mail) Paul Manafort has New York state fraud prosecution DISMISSED because of 'double jeopardy' - A Manhattan judge rules that Manhattan DA Cy Vance's attempt to prosecute “disgraced” (Daily Mail’s word for it) Trump campaign chairman is invalid. Judge Maxwell Wiley agreed with Manafort's attorneys that double jeopardy laws prevent the prosecution going ahead. Vance had charged Manafort with mortgage fraud but Wiley ruled that he had already been convicted of an 'overlapping' crime in federal court. Manafort is serving federal sentence and not due for release until Christmas Day 2024 but is currently in hospital after a 'cardiac event.' The ruling opens the way for a presidential pardon or commutation which would free Manafort! Until now he would have still faced jail in New York under state laws, which are not covered by presidential pardon powers. New York lawmakers and governor Andrew Cuomo had changed the state's double jeopardy laws. Manhattan DA Cy Vance is going to appeal the decision to dismiss the prosecution.

The group of four freshman House Democrats dubbed “the Squad” each had something to say Wednesday before the entire House voted along party lines to impeach President Trump. In the case of Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., it was the repeated shouting of "Stop it!" when House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy recounted a profane remark about President Trump that fellow Squad member Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., had uttered back in January. (She’d said we’re gonna impeach the MF’er — I think she said she’d told this to her son!) On Wednesday, several journalists -- including PBS Newshour senior reporter Daniel Bush, Daily Caller reporter Scott Morefield and others -- identified Omar, who was not seen on camera -- as the voice heard in the background as McCarthy addressed his fellow House members in the U.S. Capitol. “What's the problem?" Morefield wrote, referring to Omar. "Truth hurt?"
(Fox News) AOC TAKES A SWIPE AT TULSI GABBARD'S 'PRESENT' VOTES. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez criticized Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, a fellow Democrat, for voting “present” on articles of impeachment against President Trump, saying, “we are sent here to lead.” Gabbard, the Hawaii Democrat and presidential hopeful, surprised Ocasio-Cortez when she chose not to take a side on such a monumental issue of impeachment. “Today was very consequential, and to not take a stand one way or another, on a day of such great consequence to this country, I think is quite difficult,” Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., said after the votes. “We are sent here to lead.” PLEASE! YOU CAN’T LEAD. Gabbard skipped the procedural votes in the morning and just as the first vote on impeachment for abuse of power was winding down, Gabbard stunned with her lone “present” vote. She followed with a second “present” vote on obstruction of Congress.
“Whenever we have a vote, we should vote ‘yes’ and we should vote ‘no,’” Ocasio-Cortez said. “Voting ‘present’ is a very tough position to be in. To not take a stand in a moment that is so consequential, I think it’s quite difficult. She continued, “I'm sure she'll be answering [questions] and discussing her rationale in the days ahead.” Ocasio-Cortez has supported Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., in the 2020 presidential race and suggested Gabbard’s non-committal votes could be a factor in the primary election.

(Fox News and Trump) Federal appeals court strikes down ObamaCare rule, setting up Supreme Court showdown. (A court ruled the Obamacare individual mandate unconstitutional, that’s good! Trump and Republicans had removed it in some way.) A federal appeals court upheld a lower court’s ruling that a key aspect of the ObamaCare law is unconstitutional -- setting up another likely Supreme Court showdown in a presidential election year. The 5th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals by a 2-1 vote concluded the original law’s key funding mechanism known as the individual mandate — requiring most Americans to purchase health insurance or face a tax penalty — was properly eliminated by Congress and therefore the entire law could not be enforced. The appeals panel sent the issue back to the lower court to decide whether other aspects of the Affordable Care Act must fall. The three-judge panel of the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans agreed with Texas-based U.S. District Judge Reed O'Connor’s finding that the insurance requirement was rendered unconstitutional when, in 2017, Congress eliminated a tax penalty on people without insurance.
“The individual mandate is unconstitutional because it can no longer be read as a tax, and there is no other constitutional provision that justifies this exercise of congressional power,” the ruling said. “On the severability question, we remand to the district court to provide additional analysis of the provisions of the ACA as they currently exist.”
Dissenting Judge Carolyn Dineen King said her colleagues were prolonging “uncertainty over the future of the healthcare sector.” King said she would have found the mandate constitutional, although unenforceable, and left the rest of the law alone. LAME!
In 2012, the Supreme Court upheld Obamacare, despite serious constitutional issues with the federal government forcing Americans to purchase a product from a private company. Until an ultimate decision is made by the Supreme Court or Congress decides otherwise, the Affordable Care Act will remain the law of the land,” Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, said in a statement after the ruling. "Congress should work to ensure that no matter the ultimate outcome, Americans who have pre-existing conditions are protected from losing their insurance or facing discrimination. This is something that has broad, bipartisan support."
(Drudge) French strikers angry about pension reform cut power to homes, companies… (Reuters) - France's trade unions on Wednesday defended their decision to cut power to thousands of homes, companies and even the Bank of France to force the government to drop a wide-ranging pension reform. The power cuts, illegal under French law, deepened a sense of chaos in the second week of nationwide strikes that have crippled transport, shut schools and brought more than half a million people onto the street against President Emmanuel Macron's reform. Asked on French radio whether the power cuts weren't a step too far, Philippe Martinez, the head of the hardline CGT union, said the cuts were necessary to force Macron to back down.
Macron under pressure… he’s reportedly mulling changes to pension plans. (AP) The French government launched negotiations with labor unions Wednesday on potential changes to a landmark pension reform bill that sparked crippling transportation strikes and protests across the country. Prime Minister Edouard Philippe met with union leaders and employer group representatives after French President Emmanuel Macron asked his government to hold talks on possible amendments to the reform package. The general strike that started Dec. 5 dramatically impacted train and subway service as drivers remained off the job. Teachers, doctors and other workers joined the walkouts, and hundreds of thousands of people participated in nationwide protests.
The government is seeking to reach a deal with more moderate unions, which Macron hopes may weaken the protest movement.
A close aide to Macron, who spoke anonymously in accordance with customary practices, said the president “won’t abandon the project” but is “willing to improve it.” Macron himself was not planning to get involved in the negotiations or to make an announcement in coming days.

(Drudge) AMERICAN AIRLINES Mechanic Pleads Guilty to Sabotaging Jetliner…
(Miami Herald) An American Airlines mechanic accused of sabotaging a navigation system on a Miami flight with 150 passengers aboard pleaded guilty Wednesday to attempting to destroy the aircraft in a plea agreement designed to avoid a maximum sentence up to 20 years in prison.
“I do admit the guilt,” Abdul-Majeed Marouf Ahmed Alani, 60, said through an Arabic interpreter in Miami federal court.
Alani, a veteran AA employee who had lived in California and commuted to his job at Miami International Airport, now faces up to three years in prison under a joint recommendation by the U.S. Attorney’s Office and his defense lawyer. His sentencing is set for March 4.
At his detention hearing in September after his arrest, federal prosecutors suggested that Alani may have possible links to a Middle East terrorist group, but that allegation never came up at his plea hearing before U.S. District Judge Marcia Cooke.
After his arrest, Alani told federal investigators that he disabled the aircraft’s navigation system on the morning of July 17 because he was upset over stalled union contract negotiations with the airline. He said he wanted to generate some overtime for maintenance on the plane.
