YouTube Tackles "Hate Speech" Under Far-Left Pressure. ("JLP News," Thur., June 6, 2019)
TOP OF FIRST HOUR NEWS: Thursday, June 6, 2019 —
(Drudge) D-Day 75… (AP) In Omaha Beach, in the region of Normandy, France, a bunch of countries recognized the 75th anniversary since D-Day — the June 6, 1944 surprise air and sea operation that brought nearly 160,000 men to Normandy (73,000 from the United States, 83,000 from Britain and Canada) as Allied troops attacked the Nazi occupation of France — Trump and Emmanuel Macron gave speeches and honored 5 surviving American veterans. This was the second day of ceremonies which moved to France after commemorations in Portsmouth, England, the main point where they embarked the transport boats. (The Sun has photos from the World's tribute to immortals…)
Is Trump a transatlantic nightmare? Not for these vets… (Yahoo & AFP) Veteran and California resident Jack Gutman rushed Omaha Beach as an 18yo on D-Day under FDR, and he was back for the first time in 75 years ."If I could see him, that'd be a thrill for me, because the man has done an awful lot to help our country. It's a tough thing he's doing, and he's not loved by a lot of people." But Trump got a warm welcome by veterans. One vet said, "Hey, you're our president too. Come on up this way…. There's a lot of people back in Pennsylvania who want to vote for you.”
Another: "He's the only president in my history doing so much for veterans. He's not going to let veterans stand in line for years to get care." said George Ciampa, a fellow D-Day vet at the cemetery, who is making a documentary on the experiences of his comrades. Ciampa was part of a casualty recovery team that would find and bury some 75,000 American and German victims in the 11 months following the D-Day landings. “He's not a political person, he sees a problem and he fixes it. That's what George S. Patton did. He had the same temper as Trump, and he helped win the war over here."
Meanwhile idiots accuse him of skipping out of Vietnam service by claiming bone spurs on his feet. THEY’RE DUMB!
And this: (Drudge) PELOSI WANTS TRUMP IN PRISON… (Politico) So she tells Dems. She also clashed with Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (FAT JERRY), who pressed her to begin impeachment proceedings. “I don’t want to see him impeached, I want to see him in prison.” RETARDED! She previously said Trump “is engaged in a cover-up,” that his staff and family should stage an intervention and that the president’s actions “are villainous to the Constitution of the United States.”
House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif. He’s a snake), Oversight Chairman Elijah Cummings (D-Md. HE BLACK), Ways and Means Chairman Richard Neal (D-Mass.) and Foreign Affairs Chairman Eliot Engel (D-N.Y.) were also present for the meeting. BUT NOT Financial Services Chairwoman Maxine Waters (D-Calif.).
(Drudge) YOUTUBE PURGES 'HATE'... (Yahoo News & AFP) YouTube announced Wednesday it would ban so-called “hateful” and “supremacist” videos — it would ban videos promoting or glorifying racism (whatever that means) and discrimination (attacking First Amendment free association) as well as those denying what they call “well-documented” violent events, like the Holocaust or the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting. Quote: “YouTube has always had rules of the road, including a longstanding policy against hate speech…. Today, we're taking another step in our hate speech policy by specifically prohibiting videos alleging that a group is superior in order to justify discrimination, segregation or exclusion based on qualities like age, gender, race, caste, religion, sexual orientation or veteran status." Of course Yahoo & AFP quote the far-left extremist group SPLC Southern Poverty Law Center as though it tracks “hate groups” other than itself and the rest of the far left. Ads yanked from Crowder channel… and ours! And I heard about 50 others, taking down videos errantly, all kinds of mess!
(Drudge) WSJ asks: Will the EU Kill Video Streaming? The European Union’s Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market takes effect June 7. It is intended to update European policies regarding online intellectual property and shelter fledgling European technology companies against competition from Apple, Google and other foreign tech giants. The irony is that the new directive may end up hampering web-based initiatives everywhere — particularly the very companies it is meant to protect. Of particular concern is Article 17, which limits the “use of protected content by online…

(Drudge) Iran 'six months away from atomic bomb'... THANKS, OBAMA! (Israeli National News) A former IAEA official (International Atomic Energy Agency) says Israel and Gulf states 'need to be worried' about Iran's emerging nuclear abilities. Olli Heinonen, who once served on the security team and was the organization’s deputy director general, said Iran can develop nuclear weapons in up to six to eight months. He slammed his former employer IAEA's handling of the threat. He said the agency ignores Tehran's race to achieve nuclear weapons. In his opinion, even the Trump administration's decision to leave the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) or the "Iran deal" serves Iran's purposes. "The Ayatollahs can handle the new sanctions, and in the meantime they're making new centrifuges," he explained.
(Drudge) Xi praises 'best friend' Putin during Russia visit… haha, I BET! Trump is too tough for him! (BBC) Chinese President Xi Jinping had a three-day visit to Moscow focusing on trade and relations between the China & Russia. The visit comes as China-US relations have soured over a bitter so-called trade war. Russia turned to China after the West didn’t like what Putin did in Ukraine 5 years ago, and didn’t like Putin helping Assad in Syria in 2015. The two sides have signed a package of trade deals and Mr Xi also unveiled two pandas for the Moscow Zoo. Xi gave a press conference saying he had a "deep personal friendship" with his Russian counterpart. "In the past six years, we have met nearly 30 times. Russia is the country that I have visited the most times, and President Putin is my best friend and colleague," Mr Xi said.
(Drudge) China to Eclipse American Film Market Next Year… rightfully so, look at Hollywood lately. SMH. (The Hollywood Reporter) This year, the U.S. box office may end up at $12.11 billion compared to China's $11.05 billion, according to new projections from PricewaterhouseCoopers. But in 2020, China's fast-growing sales at the box office will exceed that of the U.S., $12.28 billion to $11.93 billion — and the country will dominate for the foreseeable future, they project! China, with its population of 1.4 billion compared with 328.9 million in the U.S., has been selling more movie tickets than any other country since 2015, but 2020 marks the more significant sea change: the first time it will lead the world in revenue.
(Drudge) New HBO show to push envelope of teen sex, drugs, male nudity… Geez, DEGENERATE. Hollywood Reporter reviews “Euphoria,” a drama starring former Disney Channel actress and pop singer Zendaya, tracking sex, drugs, peer pressure and rap in the life of modern teens. It’s based on an Israeli series of the same title.
Speaking of degeneracy… (Drudge) Oakland decriminalizes magic mushrooms, other psychedelics… (USA Today) First pot, now ‘shrooms. Oakland City Council in California on Tuesday voted unanimously to decriminalize hallucinogenic fungi. The vote makes Oakland the second U.S. city after Denver decriminalized them on May 8. The city council directed law enforcement to cease investigating and prosecuting individuals for using or possessing drugs sourced from plants, cacti and – most commonly – mushrooms that contain the hallucinogen psilocybin. Advocates argued that naturally-occurring drugs such as mushrooms and cacti have been used by various cultures for hundreds of years for everything from spiritual quests to helping battle psychiatric imbalances such as post-traumatic stress syndrome.
They say decriminalizing mushrooms would free law enforcement to tackle higher-priority issues. Supporters said that these plant medicines, as they called them, were helpful for trauma, depression, addiction and anxiety. Many described years of addiction and pain before they began using these hallucinogens and found relief.
One speaker was from a Mexican Indian tribe who use peyote in their religious and cultural ceremonies. She noted that indigenous cultures use hallucinogenic plants in a ritual way, not casually, and are guided by shamans and elders, she said. Americans can learn from their example to create their own rituals.

Here’s something silly… (Drudge) Dem event to put president's mental health under fire… They’re the ones with the TDS! (Wash. Examiner) Democrats are planning to host a Capitol Hill event featuring psychiatrists who will warn that President Trump is unfit for office based on his mental health. The event will be led by Dr. Bandy Lee, a Yale School of Medicine psychiatrist and editor of The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump, a book that argues psychiatrists have a responsibility to warn the public when a president is dangerous. SHE’S WAS ON JESSE’S SHOW A FEW WEEKS BACK.
“The president's condition has been visibly deteriorating to the point where there's a lot of talk right now about his mental state beyond mental health professionals," Lee said. "It no longer takes a mental health professional to recognize the seriousness of the current presidency."
Budget Committee Chairman John Yarmuth, D-Ky., who has called for Trump's impeachment, confirmed the event was in the works, but said it would be more likely to occur in July because lawmakers have a full plate in June with spending bills.
Good news! (Drudge) Mexico blocks new caravan of Central American migrants... (Yahoo News & AFP) Authorities blocked a new caravan of Central American migrants Wednesday after they entered Mexico bound for the United States, as the government scrambled to dodge President Donald Trump's threat to impose tariffs over undocumented immigration. Soldiers and police forced hundreds of migrants in the group -- which was mostly from Honduras -- to a halt in the southern town of Metapa de Dominguez, about 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) from the Mexican-Guatemalan border. About 420 migrants had been stopped and taken to a detention center by bus. Many others fled — it was estimated the caravan had some 1,200 people. So-called migrant rights activists traveling with the group said more than 100 members of Mexico's newly created National Guard took part in the operation. People Without Borders (Pueblo Sin Fronteras) said two of its members were detained. Good! Migrant detentions at the US-Mexican border increased by 32 percent month-on-month in May, to more than 144,000.
But… (Drudge) Historic number of illegals flood southern border… in May! Record setting more than 55,000 children caught… Feds buying MILLIONS of diapers… WHAT THE… (NBC News) "We are in a full-blown emergency, and I cannot say this stronger: The system is broken," said acting CBP Commissioner John Sanders. (Wash. Examiner) Dept. of Homeland Security says “We are bursting at the seams!” (Breitbart) US Customs and Border Protection is buying 2.2 million diapers to help deliver economic migrants and their young children into Americans’ worksites, schools, and neighborhoods, according to an online contract request — part of the welcome policy set by a bipartisan panel in Congress.
(Drudge & El Paso Times) El Paso Immigration Center Dangerously Overcrowded… according to the DHS inspector general. An El Paso migrant processing center designed to hold 125 detainees was, at one point, holding 900 in dangerous conditions! BUILD THE WALL!
Military personnel ordered to paint border barriers? To improve “aesthetic appearance”! Sen. Dick Durbin (Democrat) complained on Twitter, calling it, “A disgraceful misuse of taxpayer $$.” Whatever.
This is dumb: (Drudge) POLL SHOCK: MORE WORRIED ABOUT 'FAKE NEWS' THAN TERROR… (Axios) Americans view made-up news and information as a bigger problem than other critical issues, including terrorism, immigration, climate change and racism, according to a new survey from Pew Research Center.
(Drudge) Press freedom in 'downward spiral' across world… (France 24) Democratic governments are joining authoritarian regimes in seeking to suppress independent journalism, a human rights watchdog said Wednesday. Freedom House partially blames Trump, which is silly.
(Drudge & The Hill) Laid-off reporters launch project to Save Journalism… Oh gosh. Laura Bassett, a former culture and political reporter at HuffPost, and John Stanton, a former BuzzFeed News Washington bureau chief, founded the Save Journalism Project. It aims to save the industry from the "monopolistic power of big tech companies." WHATEVER.
