Trump Chalks More Wins in North Carolina! (Hake News, 9/11/19 Weds.)
James reads news at the top of each hour for The Jesse Lee Peterson Show, then hosts the fourth hour for The Hake Report.
TOP OF FIRST HOUR NEWS: Wednesday, September 11, 2019 - 18 years after the 9/11/2001 terror attack in which nearly 3,000 Americans died in America, and 7 years after the 9/11/2012 terror attacks on American facilities in Benghazi, Libya, in which four Americans were killed.
(Drudge) Another Trump WIN in NC special election! (AP always looking on the bright side for liberals) Headline: “GOP holds N Carolina House seat but shows frailty in suburbs.” Conservative Republican Dan Bishop won a special election for an open House seat in North Carolina, averting a demoralizing Democratic capture of a district the GOP has held for nearly six decades. But his narrow victory didn’t erase questions about whether President Donald Trump and his party’s congressional candidates face troubling headwinds approaching 2020.
Bishop, a state senator best known for a North Carolina law dictating which public bathrooms transgender people can use, defeated centrist Democrat Dan McCready on Tuesday. Bishop tied himself tightly to Trump, who staged an election eve rally for him in the district, and Tuesday’s voting seemed no less than a referendum on the Republican president, who quickly took credit for the triumph.
“Dan Bishop was down 17 points 3 weeks ago. He then asked me for help, we changed his strategy together, and he ran a great race. Big Rally last night,” Trump tweeted. No polling has emerged publicly that showed Bishop with a deficit of that magnitude. Operatives from both parties and analysts had long said the race was too close to call. Bishop’s margin was far less than the 11 percentage points by which Trump captured the district in 2016. And it was only slightly greater than when then-GOP candidate Mark Harris seemed to win the seat over McCready, 36, last year — before those results were annulled after evidence of vote tampering surfaced and a new election was ordered.
Republicans have held the seat since 1963.
(Drudge) Trump to John Bolton: YOU'RE FIRED… as national security advisor. (NBC News) One anonymous official said Afghanistan “broke open the bottom of the bag” in a relationship that had been eroding. NBC calls him one of the most hawkish voices in Trump's inner circle on a number of issues, including Taliban negotiations and China trade talks. Trump tweeted: “I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House. I disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions, as did others in the Administration, and therefore… ....I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning. I thank John very much for his service. I will be naming a new National Security Advisor next week.”
But Bolton claims: I RESIGNED! Bolton himself said in a tweet that he had offered to resign Monday night, and that the president had said in response that they would "talk about it tomorrow." “I offered to resign last night," Bolton told NBC News via text. "He never asked for it, directly or indirectly. I slept on it, and resigned this morning.” He denied reports that he and Trump had gotten into a heated argument Monday night over the president’s plan to host Taliban leaders at Camp David. (CBS News) His resignation letter reads: "I hereby resign, effective immediately, as Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs. Thank you for having afforded me this opportunity to serve our country.”
Inside the exit: Mongolia, mustache, tweet… (AP) Trump had met with Kim Jong-Un impromptu without John Bolton while Bolton was in Mongolia. Bolton was a critic of diplomacy with North Korea. Trump also didn’t like Bolton’s mustache. The president debated firing Bolton for weeks, listening to the advice of outside allies like Fox News host Tucker Carlson. After Trump’s tweet about asking for and accepting his resignation, Bolton contradicted the president. He also told one reporter: "I will have my say in due course."

GUEST: Jason Ottley of liveinspiretransform.com clears up the keto diet information. KT asks about lactose intolerance among blacks. Jesse debates with a caller who smokes pot to calm down and focus. Jason debates with a caller from Costa Rica who denigrates trainers and says the only issue is processed sugar. Jesse had nachos delivered last night, and didn’t work out, so he probably did not have a caloric deficit. Stephanie calls and asks about intermittent fasting, which Jason likes.
TOP OF SECOND HOUR NEWS: Wednesday, September 11, 2019 -
(Drudge) USA drops 40 tons of bombs on ISIS-'infested' island in Iraq… (AP via SF Gate) — The U.S.-led coalition says American warplanes have dropped 36,000 kilograms (40 tons) of bombs on an Island in the Tigris River — Qanus Island, north of the capital Baghdad. Tuesday's attack is part of operations carried out by Iraqi forces and the U.S.-led coalition against IS, which was defeated in Iraq in 2017. ISIS sleeper cells have since carried out deadly bombings in Iraq. ISIS (which Obama used to call ISIL) controlled large swathes of Syria and Iraq where they declared a caliphate in 2014. A video released by the military showed massive explosions creating mushroom clouds billowing from the island that appeared to have been subjected to carpet bombing.
(Drudge) Rocket blast at U.S. Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan, on 9/11 anniversary… (AP) — A rocket exploded at the U.S. Embassy in Afghanistan just minutes into Wednesday, the anniversary of the 9/11 attack on the United States, but officials at the compound declared all-clear about an hour later and reported no injuries. A plume of smoke rose over central Kabul shortly after midnight and sirens could be heard. Inside the embassy, employees heard this message over the loudspeaker: “An explosion caused by a rocket has occurred on compound.” There was no immediate comment from Afghan officials. The NATO mission, which is nearby, also said no personnel had been injured.
It was the first major attack in the Afghan capital since President Donald Trump abruptly called off U.S.-Taliban talks over the weekend, on the brink of an apparent deal to end America’s longest war. Two Taliban car bombs shook Kabul last week, killing several civilians and two members of the NATO mission. Trump has cited the death of a U.S. service member in one of those blasts as the reason why he now calls the U.S.-Taliban talks “dead.”
The 9/11 anniversary is a sensitive day in Afghanistan’s capital and one on which attacks have occurred. A U.S.-led invasion of Afghanistan shortly after the 2001 attack toppled the Taliban, who had harbored Osama bin Laden, the al-Qaida leader and attacks mastermind. In the nearly 18 years of fighting since then, the number of U.S. troops in Afghanistan soared to 100,000 and dropped dramatically after bin Laden was killed in neighboring Pakistan in 2011. Now about 14,000 U.S. troops remain and Trump has called it “ridiculous” that they are still in Afghanistan after so long and so many billions of dollars spent. It is not clear whether the U.S.-Taliban talks will resume.
(Drudge) Veterans with PTSD and anxiety turn to beekeeping for relief… (Medical Xpress) One guy has battled PTSD after serving nearly 40 years in the military including two tours in Iraq, didn't seem bothered by the bees swarming around his head or crawling all over the entrance to their hive. Instead, the 57-year-old logistics expert said the several hours spent working on the two hives each week at the Manchester VA Medical Center in New Hampshire was a respite of sorts from his anxiety and depression. Known as an apiary, the hives are located next to a lilac garden off a busy street. "I'm in this program to help me get out of the thought process of all those problems that I have," said Ylitalo, who has struggled since leaving the Army in 2017. "It helps me think of something completely different. ... I'm just thinking about bees."
Researchers are beginning to study whether beekeeping has therapeutic benefits. For now, there is little hard data, but veterans in programs like the one in Manchester insist that it helps them focus, relax and become more productive. The programs are part of a small but growing effort by Veterans Affairs and veteran groups to promote the training of soldiers in farming and other agricultural careers. INTERESTING.

Russell from Virginia says he’d be best of friends with Jesse if not for his views coming up. Then he brings up Antonio Brown the black football player who acts out-of-control.
TOP OF THIRD HOUR NEWS: Wednesday, September 11, 2019 -
(Drudge) Falwell Calls FBI To Investigate 'Criminal Conspiracy' At Liberty University… it’s being called an 'Attempted coup'... (The Hill) Liberty University President Jerry Falwell Jr. said Tuesday that he has talking with the FBI over an alleged criminal conspiracy against him by former board members at the school, using the media to damage his reputation.
Falwell Jr. said, “Our attorneys have determined that this small group of former board members and employees, they’re involved in a criminal conspiracy, are working together to steal Liberty property in the form of emails and provided them to reporters." Falwell said the FBI will review university documents at the Lynchburg, Va., campus.
The accusation follows a Politico story published Monday alleging, quote "culture of fear and self-dealing at the largest Christian college in the world." The story cited internal Liberty University emails, which Falwell Jr. and his attorney's allege were stolen in a coordinated effort.
Falwell Jr. said he believes the leak of internal emails was part of a failed effort among former board of director members to oust him from control. He said the school was in financial distress after the death of his father, Jerry Falwell, and "disgruntled" board members had hoped to use this vulnerability as "leverage to take over." (AP) Falwell said the “attempted coup” was partially motivated by his ardent backing of President Donald Trump.
(Drudge) Gun sales surge 15%, driven by self-protection… and Pelosi-Schumer demand for limits. The leading indicator of gun sales jumped in August, driven in part by Americans seeking self-protection and deep concerns congressional Democrats are going to push through expanded gun control legislation.
The overall number of background checks recorded in the National Instant Criminal Background Check System surged 15.5%, said the National Shooting Sports Foundation. That figure includes background checks done for security, concealed carry permits, and gun sales and was the highest August number ever recorded.
The industry group said that August FBI background checks adjusted for sales surged 15.2% over August 2018. The adjusted August number was second only to August 2016 during the heated presidential election (Hillary wanted our guns!).
The new surge came in the wake of heightened pressure for gun control, sales bans on military-styled rifles, and limits on ammo following a spike in mass shootings.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer on Monday demanded Senate passage of a House-approved background check expansion. The White House, however, is focused on mental health drivers in shootings.
Analysts said that it might be the start of a 2016-style buying binge. Then, calls by Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton for gun control and an assault weapon ban led to the highest yearly sales and background checks ever.
I remember Obama was a top gun salesman too.
(Drudge) NJ to Pressure Banks and Retailers… (National Review) New Jersey Will Refuse to Do Business with Banks, Retailers that Resist Stricter Gun-Control Measures. New Jersey’s Democratic governor, Phil Murphy, is expected to sign an executive order Tuesday that will leverage the state’s purchasing power to coerce gun retailers, manufacturers, and financial institutions to comply with a more stringent gun-control regime.
Under the executive order, the state, which purchases an estimated $70 million in firearms and related equipment annually, will refuse to do business with gun manufacturers and retailers that lack policies that deny guns to people with a history of mental illness or so-called “domestic abuse,” the New York Times first reported. Retailers that wish to keep the state’s business will be required to “prevent, detect and screen for the transfer of firearms to straw purchasers or firearm traffickers.”
Murphy’s order will also deny the roughly $1 billion in financial-transaction fees the state pays annually to banks that have relationships with gun manufacturers and retailers that adhere to permissive policies.
New Jersey already has strict gun-control laws in place that require retailers to perform background checks, but the new policy will apply to out-of-state companies that are not bound by New Jersey laws.
A number of major financial institutions have already announced that they will cease loaning money to gun manufacturers and retailers that don’t comply with prescribed age-limit and background-check requirements.
(National Review) Some banks have decided not only to refuse to lend money to weapons manufacturers, but also to impose restrictions on business clients who sell guns. Banks are even exploring ways to monitor card holders’ gun purchases, possibly a prelude to far more intrusive measures directed against individual customers rather than retail clients.

Terrorism, Trauma, and Brainwashing
9/11 was our fault — for training those foreigners! Diversity is a false imitation of the Kingdom of Heaven. It’s the kingdom of Satan.
They got us to become what we hate, and embrace our enemies.
New Yorkers still get emotional about it when I bring it up to them.
“Islam is a religion of peace.” In words maybe, but not in deed. False religions often say the right things.
They got us infighting: Jew-blamers, America-blamers, hysteria over “Islamophobia”...
We even kissed up to the Muslims with a Ground Zero Mosque!
(Wikipedia) Park51 (originally named Cordoba House) is a development that was originally envisioned as a 13-story Islamic community center and mosque in Lower Manhattan. The developers hoped to promote an interfaith dialogue within the greater community. Due to its proposed location two blocks from the World Trade Center site, it was widely and controversially referred to as the "Ground Zero mosque".[6]
The project would replace an existing 1850s building of Italianate style that was damaged in the September 11 attacks.
Nat’l Suicide Day / Week
It’s “National Suicide Prevention Week.” (Wikipedia) Since 1975, NSPW awareness events are held throughout the week corresponding to World Suicide Prevention Day, which is recognized annually on the 10th of September.
(Religion News Service via Christianity Today) Pastor and Mental Health Advocate Jarrid Wilson Dies by Suicide.
Fox News shares his wife’s and head pastor Greg Laurie’s IG posts.
I’d remembered him because Daily Wire and a bunch of others shared a viral tweet and hashtag by him last month in response to Alyssa Milano’s pro-abortion statements. She said she wouldn’t have had great joy had she not had her two abortions in 1993. She’s all about so-called “choice.” So he had everybody share pics of their children and call them #GreatJoys.
Before his death, he tweeted, “Loving Jesus doesn’t always cure suicidal thoughts.”
The news of Wilson’s death comes on Suicide Awareness Day, September 10, and follows a number of high profile suicides among pastors and the mental health community, including by 30-year-old Andrew Stoecklein, a pastor in Chino, California, who often preached about mental illness.

Nick from Florida asks if you can enter the kingdom after suicide?
Chris from Arizona relates with James’ story about not feeling anything when she saw the towers go down on 9/11. They touch on the platitudes people said about Jarrid Wilson. They remark on how suicide prevention week gives suicide so much attention.
Dan from Phoenix, AZ recounts his life growing up when he decided to throw himself in a river while drunk in an attempt to kill himself. He ended up not dying and went on to win money on who wants to be a millionaire in Britain. He would never have experienced a lot of things in his life if he had died.
Steve from Los Angeles, CA saw the video James put up of an interview Jesse did with Molly Munger regarding affirmative action.
Jerry from Torrance, CA feels that all the suicide talk is promoting suicide.
Getting Back to Reality / Nature Helps PTSD?
