Steve Bannon arrested!

(FAR-LEFT AP) — Authorities say President Donald Trump’s ex-political adviser Steve Bannon was arrested in connection with an online fundraising scheme.

(RINO WSJ) A media company linked to former Trump political adviser Steve Bannon and exiled Chinese businessman Guo Wengui raised more than $300 million in a private offering this spring that is now being investigated by federal and state authorities. JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Wells Fargo & Co. have frozen accounts tied to fundraising for the company, GTV Media Group. The federal probe is being conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The investigators have been examining whether GTV Media or associates of Mr. Guo violated securities laws through the private share placement

Soon after the fundraising, some investors began pushing for refunds after they said they never received official documentation verifying their investments in GTV Media.

Mr. Guo, a former property tycoon who is now one of China’s most-wanted fugitives, and Mr. Bannon were two of the key people behind GTV Media’s launch this spring

Movers in NYC So Busy They're Turning People Away…

(NY Times via DNYUZ) Squeezing a 350-pound sofa down four flights of a narrow prewar staircase isn’t easy on the best of days. Doing so in a heat wave while wearing a mask is a lot harder.

“Sweat is dripping down your face, it slips,” said Vladislav Grigor, a foreman and dispatcher at Empire Movers in Manhattan. “It is just terrible.”

“There is double the volume of customers — maybe more — than last year.”

While the moving industry is fractured among numerous small business owners (WHAT NY TIMES PREFERS A MONOPOLY OR SOMETHING?), and official statistics are tough to come by, one thing is clear: From professionals who are downsizing following a job loss, to students moving back in with their parents, to families fleeing the city for the suburbs, New Yorkers are changing their addresses in droves.

According to FlatRate Moving, the number of moves it has done has increased more than 46 percent between March 15 and August 15, compared with the same period last year. The number of those moving outside of New York City is up 50 percent — including a nearly 232 percent increase to Dutchess County and 116 percent increase to Ulster County in the Hudson Valley.

(NY Post) The retired NYPD sergeant was punched and kicked as he lay helplessly on the ground in a brutal Manhattan beatdown caught on security footage, police sources said.

The former cop can be seen speaking with his assailant for at least a minute last Tuesday morning as they stand outside a Garment District deli on West 39th Street.

The suspect, whom police sources have identified as Masterjadin Roman, 20, then allegedly throws a bottle at the retired officer.

The man charges at Roman, who manages to wrestle the NYPD veteran to the ground and land more than a dozen punches to his head.

Eventually Roman relents. He and his pal appear to swipe the former cop’s cellphone and headphones — only for Roman to return to kick the former sergeant in the head as he kneels on the ground trying to regain his composure.

It was not immediately clear what sparked the violence.

Roman, of Canarsie, has been accused of aggressive panhandling and was slapped with a desk appearance ticket,

Several onlookers watched idly as the man was beaten, with one bystander in the deli coming out to offer the former cop a napkin to wipe his face after the ordeal.
