Biden acknowledges Armenian genocide over a hundred years ago. Turkey's mad.
Biden's first hundred days is coming to an end. He's going to tout his "accomplishments."
BIDEN KISSES UP TO ARMENIAN GENOCIDE
(TheSkimm) The US has officially acknowledged the Armenian genocide.
At the turn of the 20th century, the Ottoman Empire was crumbling and many distrusted the loyalty of the Christian Armenians in the east. On April 24, 1915, Ottoman forces rounded up and executed hundreds of Armenian intellectuals. Many were deported to places like Syria, with countless dying in the trek. In all, an estimated 1.5 million Armenians were killed in what many consider the first genocide of the 20th century. That includes the 29 countries that have acknowledged the genocide. Now, more than a century later, the US is joining the list.
On Saturday, Biden marked the annual Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day by officially declaring the mass killings a "genocide." He said America honors "all those Armenians who perished." And that acknowledging the genocide could help prevent history from repeating itself. Biden's statement fulfilled a campaign promise he made last year to officially recognize it – something Congress did in 2019.
The move had been encouraged and supported by Armenian American activists for decades. And Biden's decision broke with previous presidents who didn't want to strain relations with Turkey – a NATO ally.
Already, the US and Turkey don't have the best relationship. Now, tensions are dialed up. That's because Turkey has long denied what happened was genocide. The country argues that the numbers are inflated and that people died as a result of civil unrest, not systemic ethnic cleansing. It's been a crime in Turkey to even bring up what happened. Turkish officials are condemning Biden's move, calling it "simply outrageous"
The US embassy in Ankara and consulates are closing in Turkey today and tomorrow out of concern for potential protests.
Biden is breaking with tradition in his willingness to acknowledge a century-old genocide (OBAMA FALSELY PROMISED TO ACKNOWLEDGE IT, BUT NEVER DID!). But it's unclear if the US will be taking stronger stances on other massacres (of the 20th century, obviously ignoring what’s going on in South Africa to whites).
(BBC, 2019) Trump admin rejected Congress’s vote to acknowledge it. In a statement April 2019 on the anniversary of the killings, Mr Trump said the US paid tribute to the victims of "one of the worst mass atrocities of the 20th century", but he did not use the word genocide. Instead he encouraged Armenians and Turks to "acknowledge and reckon with their painful history".
BIDEN’S FIRST HUNDRED DAYS
(CNN) President Biden is preparing to lay out all he’s accomplished in his first 100 days in office. In an address Wednesday to a joint session of Congress, Biden will likely tout his pandemic promises: 100 million administered Covid-19 shots pledged (A LOW BAR) -- and 200 million delivered (THANKS, TRUMP). With a Democratic-controlled Congress, he also sent out the $1,400 emergency checks (OF OUR OWN MONEY) that were delayed for months under the previous administration (THANKS TO DEMS AND RINOS).
However, Biden still faces more legislative challenges. There’s the $2 trillion infrastructure bill debated on both sides. And there’s the looming call for federal action on police reform (ATTACK ON COPS AND SUBURBS). This week, Biden will also unveil the next phase of his plan to rebuild the American economy, which will bring Democratic demands to include health care improvements in the deal.

ARIZONA ELECTION AUDIT
Maricopa County Judge Recuses Himself From 2020 Election Audit Case
(The Epoch Times) The Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Christopher Coury (A REPUBLICAN, HATED BY DEMOCRATS, WHO CALLED HIM AN ACTIVIST JUDGE, WHICH IS RICH) — Judge Coury WAS overseeing a legal challenge to the Arizona Senate’s audit of votes cast in the state’s largest [COUNTY] during the 2020 presidential election has recused himself from the case SUNDAY AFTERNOON, less than 24 hours before a scheduled Monday morning hearing. He learned he’d previously worked with an attorney on the case, Chris Viskovic (who’s working with Cyber Ninjas, who are helping audit the votes).
The audit started Apr 19. Companies hired by the state Senate are examining 2.1 million ballots, testing voting machines, looking for IT breaches, and performing a hand count.
Arizona Democrats filed an emergency request to block the audit on April 22. Judge Coury granted the request the following day but only if the party would post a $1 million bond. Democrats refused, so the audit was not paused.
A report on the audit’s findings is expected in about two months.
SUICIDE BY COP. WORKPLACE VIOLENCE. OBAMA FBI.
Politico reporter Kyle Cheney tweeted: "NEWS: The FBI labeled the 2017 baseball field shooting that nearly killed Steve Scalise a "suicide by cop," a key GOP lawmaker revealed in a little-noticed, pointed exchange with Director WRAY last week."
(He shares a Politico article Lawmakers reveal — and dispute — FBI conclusion about 2017 baseball field shooting [Apr 21, 2021] w/ fellow reporter @MartinMatishak)
(The FBI privately let the Congressmen know this back in Nov 2017. Why are we barely hearing about this now??)
(The Epoch Times) GOP Lawmaker Asks FBI to Reassess Decision Concluding 2017 Baseball Shooting Was ‘Suicide by Cop’
Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio) is asking the FBI to reassess their decision to classify the June 14, 2017 baseball field shooting outside of Washington as “suicide by cop” rather than a domestic terrorism case.
Brad Wenstrup was present when Republican legislators were targeted by left-wing extremist James Hodgkinson, who fired over 100 rounds at them and other staff, severely injuring House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.), who was hit on the hip and recovered after many surgeries.
The shooter is known to have posted angry messages about REAL president Donald Trump and other Republicans. The perp was wounded during gunfire exchange with Capitol Police and later died at the scene.
“According to FBI Special Agents, the attacker’s motivation was ‘suicide by cop,'” Wenstrup wrote.
“This conclusion defies logic and contradicts ... publicly known facts about the perpetrator and the attack. The shooter had an extensive social media record highlighting his hatred of President Trump and Republicans. He had a list of names—including Republican Members of Congress—in his possession. Before carrying out his attack, he asked if the Members at the baseball field were Republicans or Democrats,” Brad Wenstrup wrote.
“He was heavily armed, sought cover during the shooting, well over 100 rounds were fired, and the attacker could not have known that then-Majority Whip Steve Scalise’s security detail was present given that they were in an undercover vehicle and in plain clothes. All these facts are inconsistent with a designation of ‘suicide by cop.’”
The sleazy far-left FBI never interviewed the Congressmen as witnesses, the victims.
Democrat Rep. Jackie Speier (Calif.) also supported this, per far-left Politico.
