WEEKEND PER COMMIE NONSENSE
(CNN) Sunday was National Tequila Day and National Parents' Day.
The World Health Organization (WHO) on Saturday declared the monkeypox outbreak a global public health emergency. (CNN) The US is reporting more than 2,800 probable or confirmed monkeypox cases in 44 states, DC and Puerto Rico, according to the CDC. Two of the cases have been identified in children. Globally, more than 16,500 cases have been reported so far in 74 countries… “an extraordinary event” … Although monkeypox is not a sexually transmitted disease (STD), it spreads through skin-to-skin contact. In this outbreak, the virus has mostly been spreading among males in close contact with other males (as in homos).
A new California wildfire outside Yosemite National Park burned more than 15,000 acres (CNN) in central California's Mariposa County and forced thousands of residents to evacuate. Burning since Friday, it’s destroyed at least 10 structures and damaged five others. The wildfire comes as much of the US has been experiencing sweltering heat and worsening drought conditions fueled by climate change. OH GOSH.
Sunday: Pope Francis left the Vatican for a week-long visit to Canada, where he's set to apologize for the Catholic Church's role in the abuse of Indigenous children in residential schools. OH GOSH, CRINGE.
The man accused of attempting to stab New York gubernatorial nominee Rep. Lee Zeldin on stage at a campaign event was arrested Saturday on a federal assault charge. (It was a plastic cat face thing with sharp ears and finger holes for eye sockets, self-defense weapon)
An editorial published Friday in the New York Post, owned by supposed conservative Rupert Murdoch, said Our Greatest President Trump is "unworthy to be this country's chief executive again." HEADLINE: "Trump’s silence on Jan. 6 is damning" PLEASE! … RINO outlet Wall Street Journal (WSJ) also ran a piece from their cowardly editorial board titled “The President Who Stood Still on Jan. 6: [subheader] Even as the riot raged at the Capitol, Trump wouldn’t tell his supporters to stop.”
UPCOMING WEEK PER COMMIE NONSENSE
(CNN) MONDAY: An otherwise quiet summer week begins with separate appearances in Washington, DC, by former President Donald Trump and former Vice President Mike Pence. Pence is scheduled to address the so-called conservative Heritage Foundation (is that the one run by a black woman now?) today (Monday) about his "Freedom Agenda" policy initiatives. Pence is thought to be actively exploring a 2024 presidential bid as he supposedly seeks to further distance himself from his old boss.

HOT OUT
(CNN) Heat waves broke records across the US this weekend, but some areas are expected to see relief: Cooler forecasts in coming days for the Northeast, where more than 90 million people were under heat alerts in triple-digit temperatures. Parts of the Pacific Northwest, however, are told to brace for high heat for the next week or so.
MORE ON THE WEEK AHEAD
(CNN) TUESDAY: Trump will speak at the America First Policy Institute's two-day summit. It will be his first trip back to the nation's capital (THE SWAMP) since leaving office on January 20, 2021.
WEDNESDAY: The Federal Reserve will announce its decision on interest rates at the conclusion of its two-day meeting on Wednesday. Economists are anticipating another hike of three-quarters of a percentage point to curb inflation, but a full percentage point increase is not off the table given recent inflation data. If the Fed decides to make such a dramatic move, Wall Street could be in for a wild ride.
THURSDAY: A preliminary hearing is scheduled for the man accused of opening fire on the Highland Park, Illinois, July Fourth parade, killing seven people and wounding dozens more. The suspect faces seven charges of first-degree murder in connection with the shooting, which authorities say he carried out by climbing onto the rooftop of a nearby business and firing more than 80 times only minutes after the parade started, sending spectators and participants running for safety.
CRINGE FRIDAY: Bey's 'Renaissance': Beyoncé's new album comes out Friday. Last week she shared a track list of 16 songs on "Renaissance," including her already released single "Break My Soul," as well as "Alien Superstar," "Move," "Virgo's Groove," "America Has a Problem" and "I'm That Girl."
BETTER: LIV Golf at Trump National: The controversial Saudi-backed LIV Golf Invitational Series heads to Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey on Friday. LIV announced last week the 45 players who will compete, with three more golfers to be named "in the coming days.
UKRAINE PROPAGANDA
(CNN) Russian missile strikes hit the southern Ukrainian port of Odesa, just one day after Ukraine and Russia agreed on a deal that would allow the resumption of vital grain exports from the region.
"Russia agreed to some deal on grain export, but immediately after this attacked it -- showing they want to continue to threaten the world's food security," Ukrainian member of parliament Oleksiy Goncharenko told CNN. The deal promised to unblock ports on the Black Sea to allow the safe passage of grain and oilseeds -- some of Ukraine's most important exports. Russia has been blocking access to those ports, meaning that millions of tons of Ukrainian grain have not reached the many countries that rely on the food source.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Russia's missile attack "casts serious doubt" on the grain deal. The US is now working with Ukraine on a "Plan B" to get grain exports out of the country.
