The Attack on Pearl Harbor - (Wikipedia) - Dec 7, 1941, 82 years ago, communist Democrat President FDR allegedly let it happen (killing 2,403 Americans and injuring 1,178 others near Honolulu, HI), put Japanese (incl. "American" ones) in Internment Camps, and got into WWII. Democrat Harry Truman dropped the (Atomic) bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, (allegedly killing 129,000–226,000 Japanese, only 7k-20k soldiers, mostly civilians), Aug 6 & 9, 1945.

UNLV murders BY A PROF, 67! (what’s with boomers in vegas!)
(CNN Thu. 12/7/23) Three people are dead and one person is in stable condition after a shooting at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, police said on Wednesday. The suspect, identified as a 67-year-old career college professor, is also dead. His connection to UNLV is unknown at this time. Police said the suspect fired shots outside of a hall where students were gathering and playing games. “What happened today is a heinous, unforgivable crime … If it hadn’t been for the heroic actions of one of those police officers who responded, there could have been countless additional lives taken,” Las Vegas Metro Sheriff Kevin McMahill said. The shooting marks the 80th school shooting in the US this year.

(CNN & theSkimm Thu. 12/7/23) Famed television producer Norman Lear (NOT A CHRISTIAN) died Tuesday. He was 101. Lear’s successful TV sitcoms including “All in the Family” and “The Jeffersons” dominated network ratings in the 1970s. His shows tackled fraught topics of racism, feminism, and social inequalities that no one at the time had yet dared touch… including homosexuality, religion, and abortion. Also credited for boosting Latino representation in television. Lear’s family stated he “spent a lifetime helping to preserve” America’s “ideals of justice and equality for all.” BARRRF (probably good shows, though, idk)...

Foreign Aid
(CNN Thu. 12/7/23) A partisan clash between Senate Republicans and Democrats over border policy continues to threaten the effort to send desperately needed aid to Israel and Ukraine. Republicans blocked foreign aid from advancing Wednesday evening in protest over the package’s lack of changes to US border and immigration policy. The procedural vote on the Senate floor was 49 to 51, falling short of the 60-vote threshold needed to proceed. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said Wednesday represented a “sad night” after the failed vote, but emphasized that Democrats “remain committed to working very hard to find a solution to this impasse.”
Mama govt taking MENTHOLS (Mama Cali already did)
(CNN Thu. 12/7/23) The Biden administration is delaying a long-awaited ban on menthol cigarettes. The move is angering health advocates who believe the president postponed the ban to avoid alienating Black voters, who disproportionately smoke menthol-flavored tobacco products. The administration did not give its reasons for the delay. A final menthol rule is not expected until March. This comes as the tobacco industry has been working to align itself with African-American advocacy groups in a bid to resist further regulation. Among its arguments against a ban is that it would criminalize the flavor of cigarettes preferred by Black smokers, leading to an underground market of the goods.

(CNN & theSkimm Thu. 12/7/23) QUOTE: “It was one of the most despicable moments in the history of U.S. academia.” — Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla, s[tat]ing in a post on X Wednesday that he was “ashamed” of presidents of Harvard, MIT and the University of Pennsylvania for their response to antisemitism on campus. The university leaders were criticized following their testimony at a House hearing this week. In their remarks, none explicitly said that calling for the genocide of Jews would necessarily violate their code of conduct. Instead, they explained it would depend on the circumstances.
People all mad at The presidents of UPenn, Harvard, and MIT, want them to GO! Yesterday, calls appeared to mount for their resignations after they testified at a congressional hearing on antisemitism.

(AS HEARD ON AMERICAN ANCHOR BABY) When Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) asked whether calls for the genocide of Jews would violate Penn’s code of conduct, UPenn FEMALE President Liz Magill repeatedly maintained that it would “if” such speech “turns into conduct.” Stefanik seemed baffled, asking rhetorically if by “conduct” she meant “committing the act of genocide.” Harvard FEMALE President Claudine Gay answered a similar question with, “it can be depending on the context.” The news comes as campuses have become a flashpoint (OF DUMB DRAMA) amid the latest Israel-Hamas war, with reports of antisemitic and Islamophobic attacks.

(CNN or theSkimm Thu. 12/7/23) The Rafah border crossing between Egypt and Gaza will open today for dozens of foreign nationals and dual citizens to exit the war-torn strip, according to Egyptian authorities. More than 60 US citizens are among the dozens of foreign nationals set to leave, alongside nationals of Romania, the United Kingdom, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Rafah is the only border crossing in Gaza not controlled by Israel and the last remaining outlet for supplies. It has been a vital lifeline for aid to enter the enclave and for people to escape the fighting since Israel’s war with Hamas began in October.

(CNN or theSkimm Thu. 12/7/23) Republican candidates came out swinging, for… Second place. Last night, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former SC Gov. Nikki Haley, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, and former NJ Gov. Chris Christie took the stage. The GOP debate in Alabama aired on NewsNation, a two-year-old news outlet that pitches itself as an alternative, centrist network providing “unbiased US news.” … They touched on:
Gender: One of the biggest topics of the night. Some candidates used questions on gender as an opportunity to criticize parents of transgender Americans, with DeSantis calling gender reassignment surgery “child abuse.” Ramaswamy said being transgender is a “mental health disorder.” Christie, on the other hand, said the government should stay out of parents’ decisions — and that it should be up to parents to decide if their child gets treatments like gender-affirming surgery.
Foreign policy: Christie said he’d send US troops to save American hostages in Gaza. On Iran, Haley said she’d “punch them hard” to get them to stop attacking US troops. Ramaswamy, who doesn’t support extra funding for Ukraine, challenged Haley to name three Ukrainian provinces. All the candidates seemed to agree that China needs to stay away from Taiwan. On immigration, DeSantis put the spotlight on fentanyl that’s coming across the southern border.
The viral moments: Ramaswamy called Haley a “fascist” for saying everyone on social media should be verified by name. Haley thanked DeSantis and Ramaswamy for all the attention. Christie stepped in to defend Haley and called Ramaswamy the “most obnoxious blowhard in America.” Ramaswamy told him to leave the stage and go “enjoy a nice meal.” Later on, DeSantis and Christie discussed if former President Trump is “fit” or isn’t — and they weren’t talking about 45’s looks, while Christie wished he was still 45. Ramaswamy whipped out a sign saying “Nikki = corrupt.” He also whipped out a long list of conspiracy theories.
