Frightened Asians Wear Water Bottles Over Heads for Protection (Hake News, Weds. 1/29/20)
Hour 1, Wednesday, January 29, 2020 -
(Drudge) MCCONNELL DOESN'T HAVE VOTES TO BLOCK WITNESSES It’s supposedly an UNEXPECTED TURN NOT TO ME! (AP) Several RINO Republicans apparently are ready to join Democrats in considering in-person testimony from former National Security Adviser John Bolton and perhaps others. The Trump team doesn’t see these shenanigans as valid. (Wash. Post via Stamford Advocate) Just four GOP senators would have to join with Democrats to produce the majority needed to call witnesses. So DECISIONS LOOM WHATEVER. An initial vote to allow witnesses, expected Friday, doesn't ensure witnesses would actually be called, since the Senate would have to subsequently hold separate votes on summoning each individual witness. And Trump's ultimate acquittal still remains all but assured, since a two-thirds vote would be required to remove him in the GOP-run Senate.
(Drudge) Golden APPLE posts record holiday earnings… (WSJ) Apple Inc. has shaken free of last year’s iPhone slump. Highest quarterly revenue -- ever! iPhone sales smash expectations… as well as apps and AirPods wireless earbuds. The tech giant reported revenue rose 9% in the December quarter to $91.82 billion, including smartwatches and streaming-TV subscriptions. Sales of iPhones, which account for more than half of its revenue, rose 8% to $55.96 billion. STOCK SPIKES… Congrats, guys!
But… TV+ misses… It was a slight revenue miss in the company’s services business, which includes the new Apple TV+ streaming offering. And there are concerns about the coronavirus outbreak in China, a major market and manufacturing hub for Apple. But the strong sales outweighed all that this quarter anyway.
Meanwhile… (Drudge) NETFLIX Hit With Layoffs… THAT’S WHAT YOU GET FOR HIRING OBAMAS AND GOING POLITICAL… IDIOTS… (Hollywood Reporter) Sources say at least 15 people are expected to exit this week as the company moves to better advertise the service rather than its individual shows. Netflix is overhauling its marketing strategy and laying off some employees in the process. Sources say the streaming giant, which has emphasized marketing individual shows and movies in recent years, will work to better sell the service as a whole.
Hollywood stars and creators, who have flocked to Netflix in recent years, may be concerned that by amplifying its brand advertising, Netflix might promote the work of its A-list talent less. Creatives have lamented getting lost in Netflix's glut of content, though few in business with the streamer talk about it publicly.
A Netflix source says 15 people are expected to be laid off from the company's marketing department this week, though others say that number could be even higher. The layoffs represent a small portion of Netflix's overall employee count, which as of October was around 6,900 people.
They hired a new marketing lady Jackie Lee-Joe (SHE ASIAN), taken from BBC Studios. She felt Netflix over-hired in the marketing side.
(Drudge) Trump peace plan delights Israelis, enrages Palestinians… 'Deal of Century' revealed… (CNN) The Trump administration unveiled its much-anticipated Middle East plan, which it's touting as a "realistic two-state solution." But Palestinians definitely don't see it that way. The plan caters to nearly every major Israeli demand, including the annexation of its settlements in the contested West Bank region. A future Palestinian state, meanwhile, would get a capital in eastern Jerusalem, physically separated from the rest of the city. The plan doesn't lay out what would happen to Palestinian refugees displaced by ongoing conflict. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approved of the plan and said Israel will begin annexing the settlements almost immediately. Palestinians, however, have roundly rejected the plan. Senior White House adviser Jared Kushner, who helped craft the plan, admonished Palestinians for rejecting it and urged them not to blow their "big opportunity." WE’LL SEE WHAT HAPPENS!
Wed, Jan 29, Hour 1:
Jesse gives a great monologue about white people being attached to things, and so they shut up about the attack on white people, which the media denies is happening. Crappy people are taking over, blacks, mixed people, homosexuals. Only identify with what is right, not with Kobe Bryant. My country is changing rapidly; it’s like a group of people got together and said, hey let’s move this thing.
An example of a white man attacked… Doug Adler.
Joel reads Super Chats. People are supporting with subscriptions too. Thank you!
Chris from Virginia talks about sin and the Bible.
Hour 2, Wednesday, January 29, 2020 -
(Drudge) AIR TRAFFIC IN FREE-FALL AS VIRUS SPREADS… (Forbes) Air travel between the U.S. and china was thought to be potentially one of the fastest growth sectors in the global air transportation business. (The Sun) Terrified passengers wearing plastic containers… and motorcycle helmets to protect themselves from the Wuhan coronavirus. Like clear 1-gallon water bottles. It comes as airlines such as British Airways have axed all flights to China amid the terrifying outbreak which has killed more than 100 people.
A mother and child were seen on the Hong Kong Metro system wearing makeshift "shields" fashioned from cut plastic bottles. Others were also spotted in similar makeshift protection in airport queues (which means lines). Passengers on one flight from Shanghai to Perth, Australia, told The West Australian most people on board were wearing face masks as a minimum and the plane was sprayed once they landed. Another family were seen covered in plastic sheeting. Within China, passengers have been told they would be banned from any form of public transport if they're not wearing face masks.
The deadly coronavirus has killed 132 people to date, with the death toll up from 106 just yesterday. The UK government has now banned all but essential travel to China amid the outbreak, with many tourist attractions already closed since last week. A number of airlines around the world, including British Airways and United Airlines, have axed flights to the country. Experts expect the coronavirus outbreak to last for months. Uh-oh, experts! There are growing concerns as the virus has now been seen in people who have never been to China.
50 million quarantined; Experts worry might backfire… (Los Angeles) Chinese authorities have indefinitely barred 50 million people from traveling and advised them to stay home to contain the rapidly spreading virus, known as 2019-nCoV. A quarantine of this scope is "absolutely unprecedented," said Lauren Sauer, an emergency medicine professor at Johns Hopkins University. "I can't think of anything that comes even remotely close." The virus has so far infected nearly 5,000 people on four continents after it was first detected late last year in Wuhan, China. Five cases have been reported in the United States, including two in Southern California.
From Bangkok to Boulevards of Paris, Absence of Tourists Hits Hard…
(Drudge) MAGA TURNS ON BOLTON… and Targets his Credibility… HE WAS NEVER WITH MAGA! (WSJ) The White House on Monday took to television, social media and email to discredit accusations from former national security adviser John Bolton that threatened its defense of President Trump. But inside the Senate chamber, where the president’s team was making the official case for why he should remain in office, there was scant mention of Mr. Bolton—or his book.
(Drudge) John Kelly as witness? (The Hill) House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) said in a new interview Tuesday evening that Democrats may seek to subpoena former White House chief of staff John Kelly as a witness in President Trump’s Senate impeachment trial. Nadler pointed to comments Kelly made Monday in which he said he believes assertions reportedly made by former national security adviser John Bolton in a draft of his upcoming memoir. Nadler said Kelly's comments may signal he has firsthand knowledge of the conduct at issue in Trump’s trial.
(Drudge) FEINSTEIN LEANS TOWARD ACQUITAL? But she says They ‘Misunderstood’ My Remarks. (Mediaite) Per the LA Times, Feinstein told reporters, “Nine months left to go, the people should judge. We are a republic, we are based on the will of the people — the people should judge… That was my view and it still is my view.”
Still, she indicated that arguments in the trial about Trump’s character and fitness for office had left her undecided. “What changed my opinion as this went on,” she said, is a realization that “impeachment isn’t about one offense. It’s really about the character and ability and physical and mental fitness of the individual to serve the people, not themselves.”
But she tweeted: The LA Times misunderstood what I said today. Before the trial I said I'd keep an open mind. Now that both sides made their cases, it’s clear the president’s actions were wrong. He withheld vital foreign assistance for personal political gain. That can’t be allowed to stand.
Wed, Jan 29, Hour 2:
James and Joel talk about the coronavirus in China, and react to The Fallen State preview with the experts, the radio crew.
Jesse replays his radio interview guest appearance with educated black women who hung up on him and ran.
Hour 3, Wednesday, January 29, 2020 -
(Drudge) Indonesia unveils new female flogging squad… (AFP tells the story, shared by Yahoo News) - The masked woman nervously approaches her target, shuffles into position and then unleashes a flurry of lashes -- proving herself as the newest member of the first female flogging squad in Indonesia's Aceh province. The new recruit initially needed some coaxing to punish the offender -- an unmarried woman caught in a hotel room with a man. Such behaviour constitutes a morality crime in Aceh (NICE), the only region in the world's biggest Muslim-majority nation that imposes Islamic law -- known as Sharia. Those found guilty of breaches are often publicly whipped with a rattan cane. "I think she did a good job. Her technique was nice," Banda Aceh Sharia police chief investigator Zakwan, who uses one name, told AFP.
The controversial punishment enrages rights activists and generates heated media debate, as well as amongst politicians. OH GOSH GROW UP. Indonesia's president has issued a call for the public floggings to stop but he has little say over what happens in Aceh, a deeply conservative region on Sumatra island. Unlike the rest of the nation, Aceh follows religious law as part of a 2005 autonomy deal agreed with the central government that ended a decades-long separatist insurgency.
Here, public whipping remains a common punishment for scores of offenders for a range of charges including gambling, adultery, drinking alcohol, and having gay or pre-marital sex. But the job has always been done by men. Until now. More and more women are being charged for morality crimes such as public affection or premarital sex. Islamic law, which calls for women to whip female perpetrators. This is already what happens in neighbouring Malaysia. INTERESTING! Eight women -- all Sharia officers -- agreed to be floggers and were trained in the appropriate technique and advised how to limit injury.
"Sharia in Aceh is still lenient," said resident Saiful Tengkuh. "Aceh needs harsher punishments like stoning, not just whipping. Someone committing adultery should be stoned 100 times," he added.
Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International (HORRIBLE ORGANIZATIONS) have condemned such punishments as "barbaric", "inhumane", and tantamount to torture. But Aceh officials insist they're "far more lenient" than ultra-conservative Saudi Arabia and some other Muslim nations. "We're not aiming to hurt people by whipping them," Safriadi said. "The most important thing is the shaming effect on violators and spectators so they don't do it again." SOLIDARITY WITH THE MUSLIMS ON THIS ONE!
(Drudge) Man smokes marijuana in courtroom while pleading for legalization… THROW HIM IN JAIL FOR THE STENCH! HE NEEDS TO BE FLOGGED! This was in Wilson County, TN: A 20yo man was arrested Monday after police said he smoked in the courtroom in front of a judge! The suspect whom I shall not name was called on a drug possession charge. He argued that it should be legalized, reached into a pocket, pulling out a marijuana cigarette, lighting up and smoking, police said. He turned around to make a comment to those sitting in the courtroom and officers immediately took him into custody. Many in the courtroom burst out laughing. He’s charged with disorderly conduct and simple possession, according to police. His bond is $3,000, according to jail records. The marijuana that Boston smoked did have a strong odor. FLOG HIM! USE A WOMAN TO FLOG HIM!
(Drudge) Trump allies target African American voters with new tactic: Cash giveaways… OH NO. (Politico) Organizers have begun holding events in black communities where they lavish praise on the president while handing out thousands of dollars in giveaways. The first giveaway took place last month in Cleveland, where recipients whose winning tickets were drawn from a bin landed cash gifts in increments of several hundred dollars, stuffed into envelopes. A second giveaway scheduled for this month in Virginia has been postponed, and more are said to be in the works.
Destiny is back!
Wed, Jan 29, Hour 3:
GUEST: Destiny, better known as Steven Bonnell, is back! He’s the most alpha of the betas. He plays video games and makes money! He met a girl online and has been dating for over a year. She’s from Sweden. They have an open relationship, so they let each other have sex with other people. What’s the purpose? He sometimes has sex with men! Why put that out there? He’s open with everything. He thinks it’ll spread confidence and take away shame for others who look up to him. His girlfriend is bisexual too! What a mess!
Jesse tells him he’s not happy. It’s not going to last. Jesse wishes him well, and almost feels sorry for him. He used to be maybe a little frustrated with the heavy-handed yes/no questions. Beta! Jesse agrees with him about whites using the N-word during a rap song; it’s not a big deal.
They talk about Trump. He smokes pot. Does he have peace? What is peace?
Callers for Destiny!
Vanessa from Las Vegas, NV, confronts Destiny on becoming pro-choice after he used to be a standard Republican. They talk about unborn babies, consciousness, and abortion.
More great callers for Destiny and Jesse. Dmitri is black and discovered he’s oppressed thanks to Destiny.
Joel reads Super Chats, including questions for Destiny.
Jesse plays The Fallen State preview with the experts, and they touch on Mexico, the wall, calling ICE on illegals, and the drug war.
Dante from NC, first-time caller, fan of Destiny, challenges Jesse on believing no such thing as “racism.” People think they’re better than others.
Ron from LA, not a first-time caller, questions Destiny on being so down on the president over tariffs, etc.
Ms Dani drops!
Bible Go-to Guy challenges Destiny: What would you do without sex and games?
