Iraq Celebrates Trump Taking Out Iran General with Drone Strike (Hake News, Fri 1/3/20)

(Drudge) Trump Rattles the Mideast With a Risky Strike… the TOP IRAN COMMANDER KILLED, leader of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Quds Force (for more than two decades), Qassem Soleimani was 'torn to shreds' by a missile… his Body had to be identified by his ring… (Daily Mail). STRIKE ON BAGHDAD AIRPORT The attack unfolded early on Friday local time in a precision strike on two cars that were carrying Soleimani. Soleimani had just arrived in Baghdad on a flight from Syria and was leaving the airport when he was hit. The attack also killed Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, leader of Iranian militias in Iraq which led attacks on US embassy. They were among five people killed when an American Reaper drone fired missiles. (Bloomberg via Yahoo News) As reports filtered out from Iraq that Qassem Soleimani had been killed in a U.S. airstrike, some administration officials quietly acknowledged American involvement. Then, a tweet from the president: an image of the American flag, absent any commentary. And finally, a statement from the Defense Department: Trump ordered a strike on Soleimani to prevent attacks on U.S. personnel. The man is regarded as the second most powerful person in Iran.

He just recently tweeted: General Qassem Soleimani has killed or badly wounded thousands of Americans over an extended period of time, and was plotting to kill many more...but got caught! He was directly and indirectly responsible for the death of millions of people, including the recent large number.... ....of PROTESTERS killed in Iran itself. While Iran will never be able to properly admit it, Soleimani was both hated and feared within the country. They are not nearly as saddened as the leaders will let the outside world believe. He should have been taken out many years ago!

(Drudge) The Assassination triggers global alarm… after Trump ordered the killing of Iran’s arguable number two man, General Qassem Soleimani. France’s deputy minister of foreign affairs said, “We are waking up in a more dangerous world. Military escalation is always dangerous.” Russia likewise characterized the deadly U.S. strike as “fraught with serious consequences.” A Foreign Ministry statement warned that “such actions don’t help resolve complicated problems in the Middle East, but instead lead to a new round of escalating tensions.” THEY HAVE TO SAY THAT, THEY’RE FRIENDS WITH IRAN. China described itself as “highly concerned.” THEY BETTER BE! “Peace in the Middle East and the Gulf region should be preserved,” (WHAT PEACE?) Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said. “We urge all parties concerned, especially the United States, to maintain calm and restraint and avoid further escalation of tensions.”
Britain and Germany showed qualified understanding for the US move.
The Iranian cleric Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami said, “I am telling Americans, especially Trump, we will take a revenge that will change their daylight into to a nighttime darkness.”

That’s word from the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, hours after the assassination. “Due to heightened tensions in Iraq and the region, the U.S. Embassy urges American citizens to heed the January 2020 Travel Advisory and depart Iraq immediately. U.S. citizens should depart via airline while possible, and failing that, to other countries via land,” it said in a statement.
(Reuters) Israel braces for retaliation… they gave no immediate public response to the assassination. But Israel Army Radio said the military had gone on heightened alert, amid fears that Iran could strike through its regional allies such as Tehran-backed Lebanese movement Hezbollah to the north, or through Palestinian militant group Hamas and Islamic Jihad in Gaza. "They will wait for the right moment to exact revenge.” Reportedly, Israel wants us to do regime change in Iran.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection for the first time Thursday began turning around migrants seeking asylum in Arizona and sending them to Nogales, Mexico, to await U.S. court hearings that they now will need to get to on their own. There were students, teenagers and an 8-year-old killed. In 2019, more than 480 people were shot in Kansas City and survived. The vast majority don’t end in an arrest.

In November, Police Chief Rick Smith disbanded the popular mounted patrol unit, a move that will add eight detectives to the homicide unit Jan. 12. Also in January, police officials said, the department wants to double from 12 to 24 the number of detectives who investigate nonfatal shootings.

Trump tweeted 7 AM: The United States has paid Iraq Billions of Dollars a year, for many years. That is on top of all else we have done for them. The people of Iraq don’t want to be dominated & controlled by Iran, but ultimately, that is their choice. Over the last 15 years, Iran has gained more.... ....and more control over Iraq, and the people of Iraq are not happy with that. It will never end well!
