Trump Vetoes Defense-Spending Bill, Calls It 'A Gift to China and Russia'
(The Epoch Times) President Donald Trump has vetoed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) because it fails to remove Section 230—the liability shield that protects social media companies, among other reasons.
“Unfortunately, the Act fails to include critical national security measures, includes provisions that fail to respect our veterans and our military’s history, and contradicts efforts by my Administration to put America first in our national security and foreign policy actions,” he said in a Dec. 23 statement. “It is a ‘gift’ to China and Russia.”
The NDAA, the president said, fails to make changes to Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, even though both Republicans and Democrats have called for it to be repealed. Conservatives have said it enables social media companies such as Twitter and Facebook to engage in censorship of dissenting views, and some progressives have said the law fails to take “hate speech” posted on those platforms into account (DEPORT ANTI-FIRST AMENDMENT PROGRESSIVES!).
Trump said the 1996 law “must be repealed,” as it allows “the spread of foreign disinformation online,” making it a “serious threat to our national security and election integrity.” (TRUE.)
Overriding the veto?
After Trump threatened to veto the bill, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (RINO-Ky.) said he’s prepared to override the veto in the Senate. The NDAA was passed earlier this month with overwhelming bipartisan support. ("BIPARTISAN" = EVIL)
….McConnell previously said the bill boosts the military against adversaries such as Russia and the Chinese Communist Party. PSH
The president, however, said that the NDAA goes directly against his foreign policy positions, namely his efforts to bring U.S. troops back from Afghanistan, South Korea, and Germany.
“Not only is this bad policy, but it is unconstitutional,” he wrote. “Article II of the Constitution makes the President the Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States and vests in him the executive power. Therefore, the decision regarding how many troops to deploy and where, including in Afghanistan, Germany, and South Korea, rests with him.”
Renaming military bases (I think this is the Confederate names)
The president also took issue with renaming certain military installations that have historical significance.
“My Administration respects the legacy of the millions of American servicemen and women who have served with honor at these military bases, and who, from these locations, have fought, bled, and died for their country,” Trump wrote.
“From these facilities, we have won two World Wars. I have been clear in my opposition to politically motivated attempts like this to wash away history and to dishonor the immense progress our country has fought for in realizing our founding principles.”
Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), who voted against the $732 billion bill, said he would work to slow down the vote after Trump’s veto.
“I very much am opposed to the Afghan war, and I’ve told them I’ll come back to try to prevent them from easily overriding the president’s veto,” he said.
BTW: TRUMP ON FOREIGN AID
(The Epoch Times) Trump Retweets His 2014 Joke About Aliens and Government Spending “I hope we never find life on other planets because there’s no doubt that the U.S. Government will start sending them money!” the June 4, 2014, message reads.
TRUMP TO IRAN
(The Epoch Times) 'Think It Over': Trump Sends Warning to Iran After Rockets Hit US Embassy
Tweeting a photo of the purported rockets, Trump said that the “embassy in Baghdad got hit Sunday by several rockets.” He made the comments as he was traveling to Mar-a-Lago in Florida for Christmas.
“Three rockets failed to launch. Guess where they were from: IRAN. Now we hear chatter of additional attacks against Americans in Iraq,” Trump wrote.
Trump then warned: “Some friendly health advice to Iran: If one American is killed, I will hold Iran responsible. Think it over.”

MUTATED VIRUS
CCP Virus Variant in UK Spreads Over 50 Percent Faster: Study
(The Epoch Times) The [non-peer reviewed] study (pdf), by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, used mathematical modeling to project the spread of the new strain in southeast England.
“We estimate the transmission rate of this variant is 50-74 percent higher than existing variants,” said study author Dr. Nick Davies. BUT “no clear evidence it leads to higher rates of hospitalisation or death.” BUT likely to ultimately push up the number of cases and drive hospitalisations and deaths beyond the levels of 2020.
“Without effective control policies, rapid surges are predicted and the burden in the first six months of 2021 may be greater than what was seen in 2020,” Davies wrote on Twitter. OH GOSH DON’T SAY THAT.
I guess there’s yet ANOTHER variant from South Africa; the UK closed flights. Great. RME.
They’re pushing vaccines.
24 million people in the southeast of England will effectively be in lockdown, with all but essential shops shut down, along with gyms, hairdressers, and pubs (I gather those are closed too, ridiculous).
MSM, UN's WHO lie?!
CDC report shows MSM, WHO misinterpreting COVID-19 data
(OANN) The report from the CDC (far-left Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) on COVID-19 mortality rates show the organization isn’t clearly differentiating between coronavirus-caused deaths and coronavirus-related deaths.
The CDC claims it abides by the World Health Organization’s guidelines when reporting causes of deaths, namely by using the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems 10 Edition or ICD-10.
The WHO created two classifications for coronavirus deaths, to account for the number [of] cases where a clear cause of death is not able to be determined. One is meant to be used in cases where a lab was able to confirm the virus was the true cause of death, whereas [the other] was for all other cases where COVID-19 was just part of a diagnosis.
The American Academy of Family Physicians pointed out the CDC only adopted one category. They said this “leaves room for interpretation about when to use the code,” which leaves physicians without clear guidance.
The CDC’s Vital Statistics Reporting Guidance Report doesn’t provide much clarity, including defining the underlying cause of death as either “the disease or injury which initiated the train of morbid events leading directly to death or the circumstances of the accident or violence which produced the fatal injury.”
Some coroners, however, are finding the broad description difficult to manage and report they are being expected to classify any death by any cause as coronavirus-related if the patient had or was presumed to have the virus at any point before their death.
“They were actually gunshot wounds,” stated Brenda Bock, a coroner in Grand County, Colorado. “The people had tested earlier in the month for COVID and because they did have COVID, our state Health Department is listing them as COVID deaths.”
I LEFT OFF HERE…
From February through the first three weeks of December, there were 411,477 deaths due to either pneumonia, influenza, coronavirus or some combination thereof. Of these, 288,287 deaths were coded as diagnosed and confirmed COVID-19-caused deaths.
Nearly 140,000, however, were said to have been possibly or probably due to COVID-19 and thus received the ICD-10 designation. In light of the overlap, mainstream media outlets have been reporting even higher death tolls.
On Monday, when the CDC had less than 290,000, the New York Times reported 323,002. On that same day, NBC reported 323,012 and CNN reported 322,765.
Despite repeated warnings from the CDC posted all over their website and included in their datasets, the media has taken these numbers and used them to fit their agenda, including perpetuating theories doctors have begun to pick and choose who[m] to treat to try and keep the death toll down.
