(AP) Romney impeachment vote heartens some, and angers others in Utah (YOU THINK?). Republicans in the state are unusually divided on the president (THEY MORMON!). With four years to go before any re-election campaign, Romney has a long time to explain his vote to an electorate with what AP describes as a deep well of goodwill that gives him a celebrity-like status. GOSH UTAH IS DUMB FOR ELECTING HIM. OF COURSE, WE ELECTED THE BUSHES, WHO ARE NO BETTER.
Romney appeared emotional during his speech on the Senate floor (BETA MALE!). He told reporters that he’d been waking up in the early-morning hours as his mind churned over what to do, and cited a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints hymn about doing the right thing despite the consequences. WHAT AN EYE ROLL!
Romney’s key role in saving the troubled 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City paired with his status as the first major-party presidential candidate from the state’s predominant faith widely known as the Mormon church has made him well-known and liked in the state where he moved after his failed 2012 presidential run. LOSER!
Many Utah voters share Romney’s wariness about Trump. A nationwide Associated Press survey of midterm voters in 2018 found that while two-thirds of church members voted Republican, just over half approved of Trump’s job performance. The VoteCast survey also found that 64% of Utah voters wanted to see the senator confront the president. RINO SECT!
Romney and Trump have an on-again-off-again history, with Trump once calling for the senator to be impeached. AWESOME! There’s no provision in the U.S. Constitution for that. DO IT ANYWAY! While one Utah lawmaker has recently introduced a bill that would create a path to recall a senator, its unclear if there would be a serious push for it to be used on Romney, even after he became the lone Republican to vote for Trump’s removal from office. SHAME ON THE VOTERS!
AP, OF COURSE, shares the opinion of some dumb RINO female voter… Shelly Cluff, a 33-year-old stay-at-home mother in suburban Riverton, is a Republican who’s never been a fan of Trump. She was pleasantly surprised at Romney’s stance. “I was greatly impressed by his integrity, his willingness to put so much on the line in order not to violate his conscience, in order to stand with a clear conscience before God,” Cluff said. BARF! “I’ve been taken aback by how many people have been really upset and disappointed in Mitt Romney,” she said. BECAUSE YOU’RE BLIND, WOMAN!
Meanwhile, AP tells of Ray Clark, a 71-year-old electrical contractor in rural Kanab. He said he’s “furious” about Romney’s vote, and chalks it up to the senator’s personal dislike of the president. THANK YOU!

Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip but is blacklisted as a terrorist organisation by the European Union and the United States, has fought three wars with Israel since 2008. Palestinians of all factions rejected Trump’s plan, accusing him of bias towards Israel. SHOULD HE BE BIASED TOWARDS PALESTINIANS?
Since the plan was announced, rockets and mortar rounds have been fired near daily from Gaza towards Israel, sparking retaliatory air and artillery strikes. No casualties have been reported on either side.
In an interview published on Hamas’s official website Thursday, the group’s leader Ismail Haniya rejected calls to disarm and said the group would “continue in our strategy of building up force, including in the West Bank and Jerusalem, until we can liberate our homeland.”
(AP) The plan would allow Israel to annex all of its settlements and large parts of the occupied West Bank — sparking calls from Israeli nationalists to do so immediately. In return it would grant Palestinians limited autonomy in scattered enclaves surrounded by Israel, but only if they met nearly impossible conditions. OH COME ON WHOSE SIDE ARE YOU ON, AP? ONE GUESS. (Drudge) Buttigieg, Sanders nearly tied as Iowa caucus results narrow… (AP) — Pete Buttigieg and Bernie Sanders are nearly tied in the Iowa Democratic caucuses, with nearly all results counted in a contest marred by technical issues and reporting delays. The race remained too early to call early Thursday with 97% of precincts reporting. Party officials were scrambling to verify the remaining results three days after Iowans gathered at caucus sites across the state to begin choosing which Democrat will take on President Donald Trump in November.
A new batch of results released just after midnight narrowed the margin between Buttigieg, the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, and Sanders, the progressive senator from Vermont. Buttigieg has a lead of three state delegate equivalents out of 2,098 counted.
The deadlocked contest gives both Buttigieg and Sanders a burst of momentum as they seek to pull away from the crowded field. The nearly complete results show them leading Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, with former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Amy Klobuchar trailing behind.
Pete gaining quickly in NH… (Newsweek) Support for former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg among Democratic and Independent voters in New Hampshire is gaining as the 2020 field gears up for the state's primary next week, the latest polling data shows.
The figures—gathered daily by 7 News and Emerson College Polling—showed that Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders maintains a healthy lead in the state where he won more than 60 percent of votes in the 2016 contest.
On Wednesday, 38-year-old Buttegieg closed the gap by four points from Tuesday, a overall nine-point boost for the candidate since Monday. Sanders' support dropped one point from Tuesday to Wednesday.
Wednesday's figures put Sanders at 31 percent, Buttigieg at 21 percent, former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Elizabeth Warren tied at 12 percent, and Sen. Amy Klobuchar at 11 percent.
The poll surveyed 500 registered Democrats and Independents to gauge their support for the remaining Democratic candidates, with a 4.3 percent margin of error.
Bernie raises staggering $25 million! — in January, to fuel his Super Tuesday push. That’s his campaign’s biggest haul in a single month of the 2020 campaign. His campaign claims it’s from 1.3 million donations from roughly 650,000 people. His campaign plans to spend $5.5 million toward ads in advance of the critical Super Tuesday slate, which includes the delegate-rich states of California and Texas. FYI: Super Tuesday is March 3rd: including California, Texas, Arkansas, Colorado, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Tennessee and Utah. INTERESTING!

(Fox News) A Chinese doctor who was detained in China after sounding the alarm on the coronavirus has now died after contracting the disease. (WHOA, DID CHINA POISON HIM? THAT’S ME ASKING.) Li Wenliang, a doctor in China who was allegedly detained for warning others about the coronavirus before he himself was sickened by the illness, has died. His death was confirmed during a World Health Organization (WHO) press briefing on Thursday. "We're very sad to hear of the loss of Dr. Li Wenliang," WHO officials said, before adding that it was too soon to say whether the outbreak was reaching a peak. WHO IS EVIL TOO! THAT’S THE UN!
Li had claimed that he shared his concerns via private chat with medical school graduates after several patients exhibited symptoms similar to SARS before he was detained by authorities. He later tested positive for the virus.
News of his death first began circulating Thursday on social media and health blogs in China.
The novel coronavirus has sickened more than 28,000 worldwide and resulted in at least 563 deaths. About 99 percent of cases have occurred in mainland China, although two deaths have been reported outside the country including in the Philippines and Hong Kong. IT’S A DEVELOPING STORY.
