(Skimm) Greece and Turkey are in a standoff over the flow of migrants. In 2015, Europe experienced an influx of migrants and refugees, many escaping the Syrian civil war. That influx slowed when the EU reached a 2016 deal with Turkey to block migrants and refugees from entering the bloc through Greece – which it shares a border with. The Syrian regime has been trying to retake Idlib (a northwestern province near Turkey) from rebel control. For weeks, Turkey has clashed with Syrian forces over this. The humanitarian crisis there has caused almost 1 million Syrians to flee toward Turkey. So Turkey opened its doors to Europe through the border it shares with Greece. Since Saturday, Greece says it's stopped more than 30,000 people from coming across the border, using things like tear gas and water cannons. Now, Turkey is deploying police to its border to stop Greece from sending migrants back its way. The EU is siding with Greece on this one (OF COURSE. RACIST! j/k) – and wants Turkey to abide by the terms of the 2016 deal. Turkey says the EU isn't giving it enough money to support the roughly 4 million Syrian refugees there and is seemingly using this as a negotiating tactic to get more funding.
Yesterday, Turkey and Russia agreed to a cease-fire in Idlib where fighting is going down. Russia backs the Syrian government and there were fears that the fighting was going to lead to a direct conflict between Turkey and Russia. The hope is this cease-fire will prevent that.
A few years ago, the migrant crisis had the world's attention. Now, Turkey feels it has to face it alone. And seems to be risking a standoff with Greece to make the case for additional support. In the meantime, thousands of migrants are apparently caught in the middle. YEAH BUT THEY’RE A BUNCH OF CRIMINALS... NOT ALL.
(Drudge) Christ's birthplace in Bethlehem quarantined… (Reuters) - The Church of the Nativity was ordered closed on Thursday and foreign tourists were banned from West Bank hotels after four suspected coronavirus cases were found in the Palestinian town of Bethlehem. The measures announced by the Palestinian Authority's tourism ministry came as a particular blow to the Biblical town, whose businesses are largely dependent on Christian visitors to the church, built on the traditional site of Jesus's birth. GOTTA LOVE THE CHRISTIANS! Just three months ago Bethlehem was hailing its best Christmas for two decades, the mayor and hoteliers said, even better than the 1.5 million visitors it received in 2018. They’ll be closed two weeks.
Vatican City reports first case… OH NO! Days after the Pope tested negative. That’s in Italy. Italy has 3,858 confirmed cases of coronavirus with 148 deaths across regions.
In Singapore: Lying about where you've been gets 6 months of jail... (Business Insider) Singapore is working 'round the clock' to find coronavirus cases.
Cruise passengers off California await virus test results… (AP) — they were instructed to stay in their cabins as they awaited test results Friday that could show whether the coronavirus is circulating among the more than 3,500 people aboard. MAN!

Listen to this… (Drudge) Clinton blames Lewinsky affair on job pressures… 'I did it to manage my anxieties'... Heh, smh. (Daily Mail) This was from a new documentary. He makes the claims in an interview featured in the new documentary series that will air on Hulu about his wife Hillary Clinton, called 'Hillary', where the former First Lady and Secretary of State candidly reveals that in the aftermath of the scandal the couple underwent 'painful' marriage counseling. Bill reveals that at the time he met Lewinsky the pressure of the job made him feel like a boxer who had done 30 rounds and he looked at Lewinsky as 'something that will take your mind off it for a while'. Bill offers an apology to Lewinsky in the documentary that will premiere on Friday, and says he felt 'terrible' that her life was defined by their affair. But he said that at some point when things don't return to normal 'you've got to decide how to define normal', suggesting the infamous former intern should just move on. MOVEON.ORG! j/k
The scandal led to Bill being impeached in 1998. BECAUSE HE PERJURED HIMSELF. HE WAS A MAJOR LIAR THROUGHOUT HIS PRESIDENCY. But he survived the trial in the Senate and remained in office during his second term. The last time Bill spoke about the scandal was in 2018 and it backfired spectacularly because he said that he did not owe Lewinsky a private apology. The last time Bill spoke about the scandal was in 2018 and it backfired spectacularly because he said that he did not owe Lewinsky a private apology. WEAK!
He said in the interview about telling Hillary: 'I went and sat on the bed and talked to her. I told her exactly what happened, when it happened. I said I feel terrible about it. We've been through quite a bit in the last few years. I said I have no defense, it's inexcusable what I did'.
Hillary tells the cameras: 'I was just devastated. I could not believe it. I was so personally just hurt and I can't believe this, I can't believe you lied.'
Hillary told Bill that he was the one who had to tell their daughter Chelsea, who was 18 at the time. He thought it was worse than telling his wife and he said that doing so was 'awful'.
He said, explaining why he did it: You feel like you're staggering around, you've been in a 15 round prize fight that was extended to 30 rounds and here's something that will take your mind off it for a while, that's what happens. Because there, whatever life - not just me. Everybody's life has pressures and disappointments, terrors, fears of whatever.
Back in 1999, Hillary had told some journalist woman that Bill confessed that his mother abused him as a boy and caused him to become a sex addict.
In the Hulu documentary, Bill said: 'Maybe it's just getting older but I hope it was also going through a lot of this. But whatever, what I did was bad but it wasn't like - how can I think about the most stupid thing I could and do it. It's not a defense, it's an explanation. I feel awful'.
The family went to Martha's Vineyard for a vacation and when they returned Hillary had decided to stand by her husband and fight his impeachment. On the helicopter ride there Chelsea took them both by the hand. An emotional Hillary says in the film: 'When she did that, oh my gosh, I thought that's just so incredible, so strong and so wise'.
