(CNN — let’s just give a little of the fake news perspective) Experts (WHOM YOU SHOULD NOT LISTEN TO) are hopeful that the worst of the coronavirus outbreak is over in places like Germany and the US. But long-term, France says its national economy may contract by 8% due to the pandemic. In the UK, one third of all national health staff tested were positive for Covid-19. India has extended its nationwide lockdown to May 3 to try to keep the virus from picking up speed. In the US, President Trump delivered WHAT CNN CALLS a vitriolic briefing from the White House (THE MEDIA ARE THE ONES WITH THE VITRIOL AND HATRED. TRUMP IS GIVING PURE TRUTH AND LOVE), lashing out at media criticism (NITPICKING AND SMEARS) of his administration's handling of the outbreak, claiming he has "total" authority over how the country recovers (THAT’D BE NICE!), and playing what some described as a propaganda video framing his response in a positive light (I HEARD FROM MORE RELIABLE SOURCES THAT HE PLAYED THE MEDIA’S LIES IN FRONT OF THEM — INCLUDING FAUCI!). He's also seemed at odds with Dr. Anthony Fauci, the country's leading immunologist, after Fauci conceded that earlier mitigation efforts could have saved more American lives. (EVEN THOUGH FAUCI HIMSELF DURING THE TIME IN QUESTION SAID IT WASN’T NECESSARY TO SHUT DOWN!)
(Drudge) TRUMP CLAIMS 'TOTAL AUTHORITY' OVER STATES (AP quotes Trump) “When somebody is president of the United States, the authority is total,” Trump said at the White House. “The governors know that.” AP claims, without evidence, that Trump is “anxious to put the crisis behind him.” Actually he’s eager to let the country back to work. No evidence he has anxiety or is self-centered in this issue as AP tries to imply — AP is fake news!
While Trump has issued national recommendations advising people stay home, it has been governors and local leaders who have instituted mandatory restrictions, including shuttering schools and closing SO-CALLED non-essential businesses (WHICH IS A MISNOMER AND A BRAINWASHING TERM). Some of those orders carry fines or other penalties, and in some jurisdictions extend into the early summer. And governors made clear Monday they wouldn’t tolerate pressure to act before they deem it safe. YEAH, THEY WANNA PLAY GOD, TYPICAL COMMIES!
Some Republican went on CNN contradicting Trump. Then this female said, quote: “The government doesn’t get opened up via Twitter. It gets opened up at the state level,” said Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, a Democrat. IN ALL HONESTY, IT’S SUSPICIOUS WHETHER THE STATE AND LOCAL GOV’T HAS THE AUTHORITY TO CLOSE THESE BUSINESSES.
New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy, a Democrat, said something vague about “The house is still on fire,” whatever that means, to justify his mess.
“The president of the United States calls the shots,” Trump said, promising to release a paper outlining his legal argument.
CUOMO says: WE'LL SUE! (That’s Andrew Cuomo)... (Breitbart) Andrew Quomo said “we would just be off to a lawsuit” if Trump Issues an Order That Puts New Yorkers in Danger… FIRST OF ALL, MAMA CUOMO, TRUMP WOULDN’T DO THAT. SECOND OF ALL, YOU WANT TO TAKE PEOPLE’S GUNS AWAY, YOU DON’T CARE ABOUT NEW YORKERS IN DANGER. AND CRIME WENT UP SINCE GIULIANI LEFT AND SOCIALISTS LIKE OBAMA AND THAT SOCIALIST MAYOR BILL DE BLASIO!
4/14/20 Tues. Hour 2:
Great call from a black dude with a stepson. “I KNOW…” The boy comes on the line toward the end of the conversation.

(Drudge) Ex-NYT Boss Condemns Trump Briefing: Most Astonishing Act of Disinformation Since Vietnam… HA! Laughable. Liberal media including NY Times constantly puts out lies and smears against decent white people such as Rep. Steve King. (Mediaite) Following a stunning attack on the media and the airing of a campaign-style commercial touting his decision making on the coronavirus outbreak, MSNBC cut away from President Donald Trump’s Monday briefing, and then threw to the former top editor of The New York Times — who issued a thorough condemnation of what had just aired. Ari Melber broke in shortly after 6:00 p.m. to announce to the MSNBC audience that the network would not show any more of the briefing until the president and the coronavirus task force delivered topical information.
“We are going to avoid airing any more of this White House briefing until it returns to what it was supposed to be — which was the coronavirus task force providing medical information,” Melber said. “What we just saw — I want to be clear with viewers — was a video the White House put out which suggests they are spending their precious time right now making videos that defend the president’s record and tenure, rather than provide the much-needed emergency medical information that was promised at these daily briefings.”
Melber then introduced Howell Raines — the former executive editor of The New York Times — and sought his perspective.
“I’m curious, as a journalist, what you think it’s important that viewers know when the White House basically takes over what was promised to be a coronavirus task force briefing, and does some kind of backward-looking, edited video propaganda instead,” Melber said.
Howell Raines said: “Ari, I think this is one of the astonishing acts of disinformation we’ve seen from a White House since the Vietnam era and the 5:00 follies of the Lyndon Johnsonadministration,” Raines said. He added, “What we are seeing here, I think, is a kind of imploding presidency. And with an implosion, you have to have a black hole at the center. And I think what we have here is a black hole that consists of two elements: President Trump’s extremely fragile ego, and his distrust of government experts.”
Raines observed the behavior of Dr. Anthony Fauci — who snapped at a reporterfor implying that he was speaking against his will when making comments seemingly designed to placate the president.
“[Fauci and the other medical experts] remind me of nervous parents trying to cope with a 3-year-old on a sugar high,” Raines said. “This is a very grim moment.
Trump says: I Don't Know Why I Re-Tweeted #FireFauci… (Daily Caller) President Donald Trump was asked about his weekend re-tweet of a post that included the hashtag “#FireFauci” during the press briefing Monday, to which he replied “I don’t know.” “I like him,” Trump said of Fauci. “Today I walk in, I hear I’m going to fire him. I’m not firing him, I think he’s a wonderful guy.” Multiple reporters then asked why he re-tweeted the post that said #FireFauci on Sunday. “I re-tweeted somebody, I don’t know. They said fire. It doesn’t matter,” Trump replied. “Did you notice that when you re-tweeted it?” a reporter asked. “Yeah, I notice everything,” Trump said. “That’s somebody’s opinion. All that is is an opinion … I said I’m not firing him,” Trump said in crosstalk. “I think he’s terrific…this was a person’s view. Not everybody’s happy with Anthony. Not everybody’s happy with everybody,” the president also said.
He said they’re on the same page. “Yeah, we have been from the beginning. I don’t know what it is exactly. But, if I put somebody’s opinion up–I don’t mind controversy. I think controversy’s a good thing, not a bad thing. But I want it to be honest controversy,” Trump said. “Now, when I got a call, I got a call–not very quickly and nobody you know saw that as being any big deal–they said, ‘How are you doing with Dr. Fauci?’ I said I’m doing great. And I didn’t talk to Dr. Fauci, even until we just got here. Dr. Fauci asked one of the people if he could get up and speak. And he did. And they totally misinterpreted him. I saw what they did.”
