Riots in Chicago
Looters, vandals sweep through Chicago after police shooting…
(NY Post) Hours after Chicago police shot a young man who turned and fired at them, hundreds of people went on a looting and vandalism spree in various parts of the Windy City early Monday, according to reports.
The mayhem began about 2:30 p.m. Sunday, when cops responded to reports of a man with a gun in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side and located a person who fit the description near Moran Park, the Chicago Tribune reported.
While running away from police, the suspect turned around and fired at them. The officers returned fire, wounding the gunman, who was transported to University of Chicago Hospital in unknown condition, according to the newspaper.
Police and witnesses later said a crowd of about 30 people faced off against cops near 56th and Aberdeen streets.
Authorities said someone spread false information to the group that police had shot and wounded a child. HAHA AND OF COURSE THEY BELIEVED THE LIE, OR DIDN’T BUT TOOK THE EXCUSE TO ACCUSE INNOCENT COPS LIKE A LYNCH MOB.
The looters and vandals rushed through the city’s Magnificent Mile and other parts of downtown. I think I saw them inside a Tesla location. Apple Store was hit even into the early morning light, wiped clean of laptops and other devices on display. Police were seen arresting three men who were inside. Old Navy. Some watch store, they were trying to break in.
Police arrested several people and recovered at least one gun.
One fleeing woman carrying shopping bags fell on the sidewalk as an officer pursued her, and another woman appeared to have been pepper-sprayed. GOOD.
“We do have an officer that was maced by someone in the crowd. We do have an officer that sustained a shoulder injury from the incident with the crowd,” Deputy Police Chief Delonda Tally (WHICH SOUNDS LIKE A BLACK WOMAN’S NAME) said, Fox 32 reported.
“One of our vehicles, the windows were shattered by a brick,” Tally added.
Coordinated? Were they mostly black?

It appears to be a widespread, coordinated attack. (WONDER IF IT WAS ORGANIZED ON BLACK TWITTER OR NO? MAYBE NOW THEY’RE ON SOME OTHER PLATFORM.) They say it began about 11 PM, even though NY Post says 2:30 PM. One witness saw a U-Haul truck being used as cars unloaded loot into the trailer!
Looters on Divvy bikes (shared community bikes operated by Lyft for Chicago and suburbs) allegedly threatened a convenience store owner, “They said if you don’t go, we will kill you,” Adel Elbiaadi said, shaking.
One jewelry store owner said: “There was no anger. They politely told me that [they] were going inside.” HM, WERE THEY BLACK OR NOT? More than one video does show blacks.

One reporter found a box of projectiles (as in rocks) from the back of a truck.... Biz owners say they brought these rocks & uhauls in a coordinated & widespread looting effort.
One video shows a car smashing into a store to allow people to run inside to loot.
The glass doors into Macy’s were ripped “like sheets of paper” and looters took whatever they could hold, from purses to candy.
Trump Tax Cuts!
President vows permanent cut to payroll tax… THAT’D BE COOL. He issued an executive order to give $400 to unemployed workers (down from $600 expired last month) — states responsible for 25%; Defer payroll taxes for people making less than $100K a year; pause student loan payments and interest through December 31, and direct efforts to stop evictions. DEMOCRATS HATE IT.
Democrats want a $3 trillion relief package while Senate Republicans and the White House have a $1 trillion plan.
For two weeks, Democratic leaders and top Trump officials have tried to negotiate a compromise without any luck.

He’s wheelchair-bound now. The British host from American Idol, Simon Cowell was in surgery for six hours overnight on Saturday after breaking his back in a horrible bike crash. The “America’s Got Talent” star, age 60, had “a number of breaks and ... a metal rod put into his back.” YIKES.
(Daily Mail) The music mogul's girlfriend Lauren Silverman, 43 - with whom he shares son Eric, 6 (Simon is a father of one) -- his baby mama was spotted riding her own bike on Saturday — and her 14-year-old son, Adam, trying out an electric bike. WHAT? HE’S WITH A WOMAN WHO ALREADY HAD A SON? WHAT A MESS. HE’S ACTING BLACK!
Simon Cowell tweeted: “Some good advice... If you buy an electric trail bike, read the manual before you ride it for the first time. I have broken part of my back. [SO IT SOUNDS LIKE HE DOESN’T PLAN TO SUE ANYONE!] Thank you to everyone for your kind messages.

He’d turned to biking after embracing a get-fit regimen that saw him lose 60 pounds over the past few years.
Someone told The Sun 'it could take 'several weeks' before it is known if Simon will have any long lasting effects from the fall.
Covid madness.
(MarketWatch) Last week, pictures of maskless students crowding the hall of Georgia’s freshly reopened North Paulding High School went viral.
Two students involved with posting the images were suspended, including Hannah Watters, who said: “There was no social distancing, a 10% mask use rate, it was chaos!” PSH.
After a national outcry, the district reversed course and the kids were allowed to return.
Watters raised her concerns after the district called mask-wearing a “personal choice” and acknowledged that social distancing “will not be possible to enforce” in most cases.
One school nurse in the district resigned over concerns about virus safety. OH GOSH, DRAMA.
“I don’t feel supported. I don’t feel safe,” Amy Westmoreland told local news, adding that she made the decision even before the photos circulated. “I feel as though I need to take a stand so that these children who don’t have a voice and are being discouraged from speaking have a voice.” BE QUIET, WOMAN.
Only nine people at that school were known to have been infected — principal Gabe Carmona told parents in a letter that six students and three staff members have since tested positive for the virus. The school announced Sunday it will be closed for in-person classes on Monday and Tuesday.
(CNN) Supposedly over 97,000 children tested positive for coronavirus in the last two weeks of July. This is a disease and it’s supposed to spread exponentially, right? It’s not alarming. They don’t have info on how deadly it is for kids — or NON-deadly.
