Trump Calls for ‘Healing and Reconciliation’ Following Unrest at Capitol
He was back on Twitter (to post one video statement) after a 12-hour suspension; they’re liberals.
(The Epoch Times) Our Real President Trump told Americans that he has now turned his focus on ensuring a “smooth, orderly, and seamless transition of power” to a new administration that will be inaugurated on Jan. 20, in a brief video message released on Thursday evening.
Hours earlier, Congress certified the electoral votes for former Vice President Joe Biden in an emotionally-charged joint session. (FEMALE ENERGY.)
Mayhem the day before left at least FIVE people dead—three for medical reasons, one lady Ashli Babbitt shot and killed, and an officer reportedly hit over the head with a fire extinguisher died the next day—and dozens of police officers injured, D.C. police said.
He said: “Like all Americans, I am outraged by the violence, lawlessness, and mayhem. I immediately deployed the National Guard and federal law enforcement to secure the building and expel the intruders.”
“America is and must always be a nation of law and order. The demonstrators who infiltrated the Capitol have defiled the seat of American democracy.”
He warned that people who broke the law would have to “pay,” adding that those who engaged in violence and destruction “do not represent our country.”
“This moment calls for healing and reconciliation,” Trump said. “2020 has been a challenging time for our people….
“It will require a renewed emphasis on... patriotism, faith, charity, community, and family. We must revitalize the sacred bonds of love and loyalty that bind us together as one national family.”
He said to the citizens of our country, serving as our President has been the honor of his lifetime, and to all of his wonderful supporters, he knows we’re disappointed, but we’re only just beginning.
Ending the challenges
Trump Attorney Overseeing Pennsylvania Lawsuit Quits, Cites Breach of Capitol
ANOTHER COWARD! (The Epoch Times) Jerome Marcus (JEWISH, not black, at least not THAT black) announced the action in a court filing (pdf). He said he was asking to withdraw as counsel for the case pursuant to the Pennsylvania Rule of Professional Conduct “inasmuch as the client has used the lawyer’s services to perpetrate a crime and the client insists upon taking action that the lawyer considers repugnant and with which the lawyer has a fundamental disagreement.”
WHAT A COWARD!
In a separate filing, Marcus told the court that he served the motion for leave to a representative of the Trump campaign.
Trump’s campaign didn’t respond to a request for comment.
Trump had called on his supporters to be peaceful and respect law enforcement. He later urged them to exit the Capitol and go home.
The group that barged into the Capitol included at least one anti-Trump person, a Black Lives Matter activist.
Marcus was representing Trump’s campaign in a case against the Philadelphia County Board Of Elections.
Trump Ends Georgia Lawsuits Challenging Election Results (The Epoch Times)
Lawyers for the Trump campaign in two cases, in which the president was the plaintiff, filed notices for voluntary dismissal, saying that they requested the courts to dismiss the cases due to “an out of court settlement agreement.”
One of the cases was in a state court and the other in a federal one.
Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger’s lawyer, in response, said that they did not object to the voluntary dismissal but argued that there was no settlement made between the parties.
The withdrawal of the lawsuits came on the same day Congress certified the Electoral College vote for Joe Biden on Jan. 7. Trump subsequently released a statement promising an orderly transition on Jan. 20.
The lawsuits had asked the courts to review allegations that “illegal” votes had been cast and counted in the state in the 2020 election. Both cases were previously rejected by judges. In the federal case, U.S. District Court Judge Mark Cohen for the Northern District of Georgia ruled that Trump lacked the legal standing—or legal right—to bring the suit over claims under the Electors Clause and Due Process Clause in the U.S. Constitution.

Black Lives Matter Activist Took Part in Storming of Capitol
(The Epoch Times) John Earle Sullivan, who has advocated for an armed revolution on social media, was arrested in July 2020 for making a threat of violence and criminal mischief. He organized a protest with Black Lives Matter activists and members of the far-left Antifa network. According to the Deseret News, Sullivan damaged vehicles and urged people to block roadways. Video footage captured him threatening to beat a woman.
Photographs showed Sullivan inside the Capitol in Washington on Jan. 6. Sullivan has since given interviews claiming he took part in the illegal breach of the building as part of an effort to understand supporters of President Donald Trump.
His side, cops’ side
“For me, it’s important from the group and the people around me to see that side of things, to see the truth,” Sullivan told KSL-TV. “I don’t care, like what side you’re on, you should just see it raw.”
Sullivan has not been charged with unlawful entry or any other charges that police say other people who entered the building face. His picture is not among those circulated by authorities of persons of interest in the incident. Sullivan said he was detained on Thursday night and questioned about what he saw during the storming of the Capitol.
Police said Thursday that 68 people had been arrested in the city, including 41 on Capitol grounds. Charges included unlawful entry and unlawful possession of a firearm, according to arrest data.
“Protesters weren’t really, like, trying to burn anything down, they weren’t really trying to break anything, their main motive was to make it into the chambers,” Sullivan told KUTV. “Those protesters got really angry and busted through those officers really quickly, and yeah, you could really freely move around, you could go into any room and look out the window, so it was really surreal to see,” he added.
About the woman killed
Sullivan recounted being near the woman who was shot dead by a U.S. Capitol Police officer.
“There was a glass wall, and she, the woman, was the first person to actually try to get inside,” Sullivan told KSL. “All you see is hands come out the doorways with their guns. … You don’t see their face, nothing. And I literally yell at everybody else, ‘There’s a gun! There’s a gun! Don’t go in there!’ And a shot goes off. And she gets shot as soon as she goes through.”
The U.S. Capitol Police said Thursday that one of its officers fired the shot that killed the woman, identified as Ashli Babbitt.
The officer was placed on administrative leave pending a joint investigation conducted by the agency and the Metropolitan Police Department.
Other people who stormed the Capitol have been identified as supporters of President Donald Trump. That includes Rick Saccone, a former member of the House of Representatives, Derrick Evans, a member of the West Virginia House of Delegates, and Kristina Malimon, part of the Young Republicans of Oregon’s leadership.
DC Mayor told feds to stand down before U.S. Capitol riot…
(Revolver / The Federalist ) Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser told federal law enforcement to stand down just one day before a mob of Trump supporters (AND/OR PERHAPS OTHERS) breached the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday, quickly overwhelming police, smashing windows, entering the chambers, and forcing lawmakers and staff to suspend proceedings on emergency lockdown and retreat.
“To be clear, the District of Columbia is not requesting other federal law enforcement personnel and discourages any additional deployment without immediate notification to, and consultation with, MPD...,” Bowser wrote in a letter to authorities.
According to Bowser, D.C.’s Metropolitan Police Department in coordination with the U.S. Park Police, Capitol Police, and Secret Service were well-equipped to handle the rallies Wednesday.
“The District of Columbia Government has not requested personnel from any other federal law enforcement agencies,” she continued.
Bowser also explained that the presence of “unidentifiable” federal law enforcement agents in D.C. could “cause confusion” and “become a national security threat” because of the lack of distinction between them and “armed groups.”
Despite Bowser’s confidence in her own law enforcement agencies, police were quickly overwhelmed Wednesday afternoon as massive rallies turned to chaotic rioting in the Capitol, forcing calls for backup from President Donald Trump and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.
