Thomas Massie vs nutty female minded black male
(rep thomas massie) He wanted to discuss solutions to school shootings, but when I offered a solution he began shouting. When he asked for data, I gave him data, but then he just shouted more. Bring facts. There’s never been a school shooting in the hundreds of schools that allow staff to carry.

Trumps failed first step act (kushner, some woman, aclu)
Rand Paul staffer stabbed, black on white crime (victim looks hispanic or Italian tbh, so…)
SILENT CLIP 11: INTERESTING THREAD (emeriticus — Pedro L. Gonzalez!) UPDATE: The man who brutally attacked one of Rand Paul's staffers in broad daylight over the weekend was released from prison thanks to Trump's First Step Act. Meet Glynn Neal. 1/ (ARTICLE: Man released from federal prison stabs Rand Paul staffer on second day out | Fox News)
LOTS OF INTERESTING INFO THERE: Neal was sentenced to 12+ years in 2011 for compelling a person to live a life of prostitution against their will, felony threats, and obstruction of justice. 2/
But he didn't serve the full sentence. Documents newly surfaced by Virginians 4 Safe Communities (@VA4SafeComm) / Twitter show Neal was released and violated his parole in September 2021. He was arrested in February 2022.
So Neal was released, violated his parole, arrested again, and released again. Here are some of his crimes. He seems like a nice guy. 4/
Neal was released last Friday, March 24. The next day, he brutally stabbed Philip Todd, [Rand] Paul's staffer, leaving him with a punctured lung and potential brain bleeding. He was released thanks to "good time credits" in Trump's First Step Act. 5/
I've written a lot about the First Step Act and the people who helped create it, namely, Jared Kushner and Brooke Rollins. Kushner attended Trump's 2024 announcement. 7/
Rollins leads Trump's think tank, America First Policy Institute, which will likely staff the White House if he wins in 2024. These are among the worst people from his administration. 8/
Rollins is proud of the fact her efforts helped close several prisons in Texas at a time when violent crime is on the rise. And Trump is glad to work with her. Kushner advises America First Policy Institute, by the way. 9/
Trump pushed the First Step Act by legitimizing left-liberal talking points about the justice system being systemically racist. 10/
"This legislation reformed sentencing laws that have wrongly and disproportionately harmed the African-American community," he said in 2019. 11/
He reiterated that line in 2020: "I also signed into law the historic First Step Act, which rolled back unjust provisions of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994, which disproportionately harmed African American communities." 12/ https://trumpwhitehouse.archives.gov/presidential-a
But Neal isn't the only dangerous criminal who has benefitted from the First Step Act. Joel Francisco committed murder after securing early release thanks to the First Step Act. 13/
Troy Powell, who was a kind of poster boy for the bill and who Trump trotted around the White House, was rearrested after securing early release. He and three others were caught with thousands of dollars in meth and were charged with trafficking. 14/ https://fox13memphis.com/trending_archi
The First Step Act also gave unprecedented leniency to drug traffickers with the "Scarface" provision, which made it possible to shorten mandatory minimums for criminals caught smuggling drugs into the US by boat or submarine. That was a win for cartels https://chroniclesmagazine.org/columns/the-american-interest/trumpism-the-myth-the-man-and-the-mandate/
It's important to note that Trump's White House lied to people about what the First Step Act entailed. They knew what they were doing. They knew they were helping dangerous thugs. But they didn't admit it. We had to find out later the hard way. 17/
By 2019, Tucker Carlson was reporting that of 2,243 inmates released under the First Step Act, only 960 were incarcerated for drug-related offenses. Many more were behind bars for serious crimes. 18/
496 were in for weapons/explosives-related crimes, 239 for sex offenses, 178 for fraud/bribery/extortion, 118 for burglary/larceny and 106 for robbery, 59 were imprisoned over homicide/aggravated assault, and 46 for immigration-related offenses. 19/
To his credit, @TomCottonAR was one of the only people who saw the real danger posed by the First Step Act. 20/
One of the reasons Jared Kushner hated Jeff Sessions is that Sessions internally opposed criminal justice reform. Sessions was a hero and a good man. And like everyone else around Trump who tried to do the right thing, he was destroyed. 21/
Trump hasn't indicated he regrets his soft-on-crime policies, even with the evidence we have now. Here's a WH meeting on the issue in 2020 with Kim Kardashian. Jared Kushner and America First Policy Institute president Brooke Rollins are on the left. 23/ https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/kim-k (PIC)
Republicans have actually for years been giving up the fight on crime in the states, thanks to people like Rollins, who are backed by the Koch network. Trump just took something *bad* that had been happening in the states and implemented on the federal level. He basically poured gasoline on the fire. Relevant excerpts from "Red State Blues" by Matt Grossman. It's also worth noting that this undermines the notion Trump has good instincts. If everyone is doing something wrong and Trump's instinct is to just do the wrong thing "bigly," then those are actually terrible instincts. It means he's more of a follower than a leader on policy. 24/
Quote from a top aide to Sen. Tom Cotton just now about Trump’s criminal justice reform policies: “Kardashian and Van Jones had more sway than several national law enforcement organizations who tried to warn about this. Groups like National Sheriffs were told to shut up and worse. Couldn’t even get a meeting.” That’s damning. Now consider how many more stories there are like this that still haven’t been told in full about the Trump administration. 25/
…. Anonymous Trump staffer: “Remember, Trump promised to be the guy who would back the blue and execute drug dealers [THAT WAS JUST RECENTLY! UNFAIR!]. Instead, he essentially affirmed the underlying narrative that the Left constructed around Ferguson, Baltimore, and Staten Island. Trump didn’t execute any drug dealers—he let them out on ‘compassionate care.’” 27/
ALSO DC / FEDS ARE A CORRUPT MESS ANYWAY
Not ALL Trump’s fault!
ALSO SEE THREAD: (julie_kelly2) Absolutely stunning. Matthew Graves’ office is working nonstop to prosecute mostly misdemeanor offenses related to Jan 6 but allowing legitimate criminals in DC to skate. Highest declination rate by far of any major city. (ARTICLE: Why the D.C. U.S. Attorney declined to prosecute 67% of those arrested - The Washington Post)
(julie_kelly2) Graves recently boasted he will prosecute up to 1,200 more J6ers. This will be mostly for low level offenses of people with no criminal record who pose no threat to anyone. Meanwhile…
DOJ is pulling prosecutors from other US Atty offices to prosecute J6ers. Instead of taking on violent crime in DC, Graves' lawyers are preparing to prosecute women like this (complaint filed last week)
TRUMP RESPECTS J6ers
BTW: GOP Senators “broke” with Trump over “offensive” J6 incarcerated tribute (HuffPOst headline)
(Yahoo / NBC) Top Republicans balk at Trump highlighting Jan. 6 rioters, calling it politically unwise
(NBC) Awaiting possible indictment, Trump rallies in Waco and vows to 'destroy the deep state'
Trump railed against the government officials investigating him, vowing to remove "the thugs and criminals who are corrupting our justice system" if he is elected again.
WACO, Texas — Former President Donald Trump vowed to destroy the “deep state” during a campaign rally in this city Saturday, which is in the midst of the 30th anniversary of the federal siege of anti-government cult leader David Koresh’s compound.
“Either the deep state destroys America or we destroy the deep state,” Trump said of the stakes of his bid for a return to the Oval Office.
At the first major rally of his campaign, Trump spoke to thousands of boisterous supporters on the tarmac of a regional airport. Before his remarks, his red, white and blue jet circled the crowd before landing and pulling up behind his stage.
Trump walked onstage with the "Justice for All" video playing — a choir of men incarcerated for their role in the Jan. 6 riot singing the national anthem, interposed with Trump reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. It included images of the insurrection as well.
Trump has been railing against the government officials investigating him, with increasingly dark warnings about the "death and destruction" that could ensue should he be indicted.

2028
The year that women will own 75% of discretionary spending. Mark your calendars.
When it comes to everyday purchase decisions, research shows women today hold a majority of the spending power — and it’ll only continue to grow. Data like this shows how important it is for brands to understand women consumers now, and in the future.
What’s got people saying 'the kids are not alright'…
(TheSkimm Wed.) Hospitalization rates. Yesterday, a study revealed that hospitalizations for children with mental health conditions skyrocketed by more than 25% between 2009 and 2019. Many of the kids admitted were 11 to 14 years old — with girls being a larger portion of patients. The study found that suicidal or self-harming behavior led to a 33% jump in hospitalizations.
The causes are unclear, but one of the researchers said the “growing use of social media” among children has been linked to depression symptoms. Now, experts say the findings put a spotlight on a failing US health care system, adding “the hospital ends up being the place you go when all else fails.” They're calling for an increase in mental health services in communities and schools.
I’VE HEARD THIS TOO! What could be giving people a bad gut feeling…
(TheSkimm Wed.) Probiotics. According to a report from the Washington Post, probiotic supplements may do the opposite of helping people’s guts. One study found that healthy people might want to stay away from ingesting the microorganisms. That's because too much of a good thing could actually disrupt the balance of people’s microbiomes. As for prebiotics…that’s another story. Thanks a lot #guttok.
