Trump Asks Supreme Court for Permission to Join Texas Election Lawsuit
(The Epoch Times) President Trump’s lawyer filed a motion to intervene with the U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday, asking the court to allow the president to join the Texas case that alleges Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, and Wisconsin had unconstitutionally changed election laws, treated voters unequally, and triggered significant voting irregularities by relaxing ballot integrity measures.
In its filing (pdf), Trump’s lawyer argues that the president should be afforded the opportunity to intervene in the case so that he can “protect his unique and substantial personal interests as a candidate for re-election to the Office of President in the November 3, 2020 election.”
Trump’s lawyer also filed a Bill of Complaint, supplementing the suit filed by Texas. Trump’s version outlined additional complaints, including the lack of signature verification in Georgia.
19 total states want this in the Supreme Court
The same day: 17 States Urge Supreme Court to Review Texas Bid Challenging Election Results in 4 States (The Epoch Times) … and now it’s 18 states… with Arizona (Drudge / CBS DFW)
The states supporting the Texas suit, all of which have Republican attorneys general, are Missouri, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, and West Virginia.
An amicus brief (amicus curiae) or ‘friend of the court’ brief was filed with the high court earlier Wednesday, led by Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt.
Under the U.S. Constitution, the “times, places, and manner of holding elections” may only be prescribed by the state “legislature” and “Congress.”
The states wrote (pdf), “Encroachments on the authority of state Legislatures by other state actors violate the separation of powers and threaten individual liberty.”
Meanwhile, the changes made by the defendant states to mail-in voting rules during the COVID-19 pandemic, the 17 states argued, would have likely enhanced the risk of election fraud, since they strip away safeguards protecting against fraudulent behavior.
They added that the relaxation of safeguards for mail-in ballots create “needless vulnerability to actual fraud and undermined public confidence in the election.”
Some of these changes include removing signature verification, extending the deadline to receive mail-in ballots, and failing to implement consistent statewide standards for the handling of mail-in ballots, the Texas lawsuit alleges.
Following the filing of the brief, Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich later in the day filed a request to the top court for permission to file his own brief in support of Texas (pdf).
CNN wants you to accept reality, guys
(CNN) All 50 states and the District of Columbia have now certified their presidential election results. The next major step in the Electoral College process is Monday’s meeting of the electors. President Donald Trump escalated his baseless *wink wink* claims of voter fraud yesterday, asking the Supreme Court to intervene in a lawsuit (I DON’T THINK CNN KNOWS WHAT THAT MEANS, BECAUSE THEY SEEM TO BE SAYING IT WRONG — TRUMP WANTS COURT TO LET HIM INTERVENE, MEANING JOIN THE LAWSUIT) seeking to invalidate millions of votes allegedly cast in Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
NOT READ: Meanwhile, the man the MEDIA CALLS President-elect, Joe Biden, still has some key Cabinet decisions to make, including a nomination for attorney general. Alabama Sen. Doug Jones, Judge Merrick Garland and Sally Yates are supposedly top contenders (GROSS!). Biden is also trying to sell his choice for defense secretary, retired Army Gen. Lloyd Austin, to congressional Democrats on the fence. Austin’s nomination would require a special waiver because he has only been out of active-duty military service for four years, instead of the required seven years for the post.

New York State Assembly Introduces Bill Mandating COVID-19 Vaccine
(The Epoch Times) New Yorkers will no longer get to decide whether or not to get a COVID vaccine if a bill calling for mandatory vaccinations gets approved.
FEMALE New York State Assemblyman Linda Rosenthal, a Democrat (67th District, upper West Side Manhattan, Hell’s Kitchen), quietly introduced a bill on Dec. 4 that “mandates vaccination in certain situations.”
Every New Yorker, except those medically exempt, are required to receive the vaccine if the state’s vaccination efforts do not achieve “sufficient immunity from COVID-19.”
Rosenthal told local media (WGRZ-TV) the bill was “a protective health measure” that would “ensure that our residents are safe and protected against further spread.” (YES WE WILL PROTECT YOU BY FORCE!)
But in an event where not enough people get vaccinated to reach herd immunity, “the department of health of the state can then say that we need people to get the vaccination.” Rosenthal explained that an estimated 75 percent to 80 percent of the population would need to be vaccinated in order to achieve herd immunity.
Barbara Loe Fisher, cofounder and president of the National Vaccine Information Center, described the legislation as inappropriate.
“It is inappropriate for public health officials and state legislators to be introducing legislation that mandates use of an experimental vaccine being considered for release under an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA),” Fisher told The Epoch Times in an email.
“Until a COVID-19 vaccine is formally licensed by the FDA and recommended for use by certain populations by the CDC, it remains an experimental vaccine,” she said. “This kind of bill sends the wrong message to the public.”
The National Vaccine Information Center is a nonprofit organization that publishes “information on diseases and vaccine science, policy, law and the ethical principle of informed consent.”
New Hampshire Governor Says He Won't Mandate COVID-19 Vaccine
(The Epoch Times) In an interview on CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” Republican Gov. Chris Sununu (former Gov. and Bush the daddy’s Chief of Staff John H. Sununu’s son, Chris also has a politician brother John E.) was asked whether, in light of his state’s requirement for preschool and kindergarten aged children to be vaccinated against a range of diseases in order to be admitted to school, he would support a COVID-19 vaccine mandate.
“Absolutely not. No way,” Chris Sununu replied. “Anyone that’s going to mandate a first-trial vaccine really could be potentially asking for trouble and this is the ‘live free or die’ state.”
He expects at-risk individuals will choose to take the vaccine “at an extremely high rate,” but that those who don’t want to be inoculated, won’t have to.
“The vaccine is about knowing that other folks have that choice to protect themselves and we, as a society, can kind of get back to whatever the ‘new normal’ is going to look like,” he said, adding that the question of a vaccine mandate would be for the New Hampshire legislature to decide. OH GOSH I DON’T LIKE THAT! THIS GUY SEEMS LIKE A RINO.
Nearly half of the 10,000 respondents polled in a September Pew research survey stated they would definitely or probably not get the vaccination.
